Sophos Firewall Reviews

The most valuable features are its nice interfaces and configuration. The endpoint is also very good.

Areas for improvement would be the access points and the on-premise version, which is very bad.

I've been using this solution for two years.

The technical support is very, very bad.

Sophos is about three or four years behind FortiGate. I would score this solution nine out of ten.

We are resellers of Sophos XG and I'm the company's managing director. 

I like the firewall endpoint and email encryption that Sophos XG provides.

As with solutions like Palo Alto and other firewalls, the SD-WAN needs to be rigorously and aggressively improved because when we provide this solution to our customers, it often fails at the network security level. 

I've been using this solution for seven years. 

The stability of this product is good, we've never had any complaints from our customers. 

The scalability is fine. 

Licensing costs for this product are reasonable. 

I rate this solution eight out of 10. 

Sophos XG is used as our firewall.

We are an MSP, and we have a variety of clients with varying needs. It is a solution that is tailored to each of our clients and their specific requirements.

The most valuable feature of this solution is flexibility.

Scalability could be improved. It could be better.

I have been working with Sophos XG for approximately six years.

Sophos XG is a stable solution.

It is scalable in the majority of cases. We've had a couple of problems.

Our main application is for medium-sized companies.

We are also using FortiGate.

The initial setup is easy, it's straightforward.

The technical support is good. We have no problems with technical support.

The price is reasonable but it would be great if it was reduced to half the price.

I would recommend this solution. They all have different strengths and weaknesses, it all depends on the environment.

I would rate Sophos XG a nine out of ten.

The solution is very slow in comparison with SonicWall and FortiGate. It should have faster performance. 

The installation could be faster and is longer than that of other solutions, lasting more than a month instead of five minutes.  

I've been using Sophos XG for five years.

When compared with other firewalls, such as that of SonicWall, we have had no issues with the solution's stability. It works very well.

The solution is scalable.

Sophos does not provide immediate support, such as SonicWall does with its toll free number. This may take an hour or two, although I suppose things would be different were we to raise a critical ticket. 

I have been in contact with tech support within the last week or so. 

SonicWall has a toll-free number which can be reached for immediate support, something which is unique, although Sophos may take an hour or two to respond. I suppose this would be different were a person to raise a critical ticket. 

Sophos XG has a longer installation period than other firewalls, occupying in excess of a month instead of five minutes. 

I am the technical person. Installation can be handled independently. We do the configuration of the firewall. 

We have two teams that are responsible for the deployment, a firewall and a network one. We can handle the implementation using both teams. 

I don't believe we have a license for this product.

SonicWall and FortiGate provide considerably faster performance than Sophos. 

The solution is deployed both on-premises and on the cloud. 

We have a data center which contains multiple firewalls. If our clients ask about a certain firewall expert, we simply implement the Sophos firewall, clientele. We have created certain IP sectors like this, in which case we provide multiple firewalls in clientele.

We have around 150 clients making use of the firewall.

We would recommend the solution to others. 

I rate Sophos XG as a ten out of ten. 

The solution acts as a filter. 

A valuable feature involves the solution's manageability. 

Even though things work on the back end, we have encountered bugs in the solution. 

User interface and integration can stand improvement.

I have been working with Sophos XG for two or three years. 

Owing to the fast and adequate response time we get, we do not have complaints about the stability. 

Scalability is not an issue for us, as we are getting the requisite support, with fast response time. 

The price is good for the moment.

I am using Sophos XG for network security.

The most valuable features are the reporting, dashboards, and graphical user interface. It gives a good overall picture of what is happening over the network.

There have been some issues when upgrading. For some reason, parts of the configuration become unconfigured, I then have to reconfigure it. I should not need to keep reconfiguring it after upgrades.

I have been using this solution for approximately four years.

The solution is stable.

The solution is scalable.

There needs to be more tutorials and documentation. I have not done a lot of configuration because I need more training.

We were previously using Cyberoam.

The initial setup was not difficult to complete. I have not been trained as a Sophos administrator and it would have been easier if I had training. 

I recommend this solution to others.

The solution could improve by making the graphical interface better and increasing the performance.

The scalability of Sophos XG is good.

The installation is easy. There is a wizard that can be used for a single connection making it simple and if you have multiple connections you can configure it manually.

Sophos tends to have less performance compared to Fortinet, and Palo Alto solutions.

We deploy this solution for the health care industry, in hospitals.

There are many valuable features.

It's a good product.

It is not recommended for larger enterprise customers.

They need to improve the SD-WAN feature.

As we are service providers, we have deployed multiple deployments of Sophos XG for our customers.

Our clients are using the latest version.

Sophos XG is a reliable product.

Sophos XG is easy to scale.

We have eight to ten customers who are using this solution.

Technical support is good but there is a delay in response.

The response time needs improvement.

We deal with Fortinet and Sangfor as well.

The initial setup is easy to apply. It is not complex.

The product is well priced. We are happy with the pricing.

The license is subscription-based.

I would recommend this solution for less than 5,000 users.

I would rate Sophos XG an eight out of ten.

The solution is a next generation firewall and we have gotten good customer feedback. It is a very good appliance. The daily, up-to-date security features of the solution's updates and device answer customer IT needs concerning security, network and web protection and new protections, such as those concerning data. 

The box needs to be fixed

Moreover,the bugs need fixing. I also think that SD-WAN features should be added. The intelligence feature should be improved and Sophos needs upgrading and updating. 

I've been using Sophos XG since 2015.

The solution is stable. 

Both Sophos XG and XGS offer a host of cloud-based security features. 

The solution is very scalable. 

Our IT-related infrastructure allows us to scale up. This is a good feature of SD-WAN, which affords easy scalability to modern networks and many data center advances. The SD-WAN features are the most important part of Sophos XG's scalability. When it comes to the scanning power requirements, we have the ability to scale over it. 

While the solution proved to be user-friendly and to offer an easy deployment we faced many issues involving its registration. This posed an issue when it came to scaling. However, we found it to be easy to configure and implement. 

The solution is more cost-effective than FortiGate, Cisco and Palo Alto, which have very expensive licenses.

The solution is very user-friendly. 

I would recommend the solution to my customers because it costs a fraction of its previous price and most of them cannot afford an expensive EDR backup.

We use Sophos XG to provide access to our internal environment, to our infrastructure for our clients.

It is easy to implement.

It is very secure, which is why we have chosen it.

It is already secure but it could be better in terms of other breaches that may occur.

I have been using the latest version of Sophos XG for a few months.
