Reliable image backups have protected our HMIs and simplified on‑premises recovery
We have not tried the vulnerability assessment feature yet because we have a different set of protocols for our cybersecurity. We conduct audits and plug the gaps as part of our security approach. We are not using AI with the anti-malware from Acronis; we are using it only for backup and recovery. On the backup and restoration side with Acronis Backup, some on-premises AI features which can detect anomalies may be something which would improve the product significantly. Otherwise, we are not very comfortable with cloud-based solutions at this time. We are looking for products which are entirely on-premises, so they remain within our control.

Seamlessly integrated backup solution with clear UI and affordable pricing
We wanted a backup on an external provider of our old code repository and we chose this solution Thanks to the solution, we have more control for ISO 27001, which is equivalent to SOC 2 in America. It is required for all security compliance. The seamless integration, the clear and easy-to-use…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It is perfect for small- to medium-sized business installations."
"Acronis Backup is easy to use, intuitive, and has high performance."
"The good thing is that it's a central console, and in that console itself, we have multiple options, including a file sync option, the ability to take a second backup with the client's own cloud and a universal backup that is like a complete image of the server backup level, and that restoration is very good on the Acronis side compared to other products."
"All the necessary features required to set up a proper backup are already present in Acronis Backup."
"It has simple buying options and deployments. You can buy on-cloud, on-premises, or hybrid solutions. Acronis Backup is very easy to deploy. It also does not consume much hardware. The administrator's tasks are very simple. It is very user friendly, and it also has good security features with low-level encryption and data encryption."
"The solution is exceptional for desktop backup."
"The ability to clone backups."
"We are able to remotely backup machines from locations across the United States from one centralized point."
"The seamless integration, the clear and easy-to-use UI, and the pricing, which is fairly cheap, are all valuable aspects of the product."

Cons

"I've had some issues with the understandability of the interface. I think if they had someone with expertise in user interfaces to look at this, they could clean up the user interface."
"The support takes too much time to respond to callbacks. Calls are often scheduled around four to five PM and tend to occur with a two-hour delay each time."
"It supports Microsoft SQL and Microsoft Exchange, but it does not support Oracle databases or Postgres."
"Live thumb drive boot process does not work well and support for it is lacking."
"Sometimes backups become corrupted and can not be access via the Recovery Console, You can send the backups too Acronis support (Could take months depending on the size of the backup) and they will try to recover the data, however rarely do."
"There is no technical support available for this product and there is also minimal documentation available."
"Error log interpretation will come back with some great big number, then it will want to go to the internet, but it is a silent site. Unfortunately, we aren’t able to really tell what is going on."
"There are some limitations to the backup."
"They force you to use the web UI or SaaS platform to restore the backup."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing is significantly higher than it was last year, which is understandable since they have introduced new technology, such as transitioning from backup to cybersecurity."
"We use the free version that provides very basic functionalities."
"Its price is quite friendly on the pocket. You need to pay the licensing cost upfront, and then the support charges are on an annual basis."
"This is an affordable product and fits within our customers' budgets."
"There is a license required for this solution and it can be on a monthly basis."
"You pay for what you use in the cloud. If you don't start the virtual machine in the cloud, you only pay for the information stored there. But when you start the virtual machine, another pricing model is activated."
"We have a Cyber Cloud backup license and we have on-premises storage. Both can be useful for our customers."
"The license is a perpetual license. The cost is an area for improvement."
