Enhanced project management and automation simplify reporting and approval processes
I think that Adobe Workfront could be improved in several areas, including reporting, which I've already mentioned. There are very specific things within the custom forms that I think could be improved, such as having different labels within forms instead of system-wide. The ability to hide options in a drop-down at the custom form level instead of system-wide would be another improvement. There are times we have to create brand new fields because we need slightly different wording within the label. If we had the capability, we could easily trim down from over 1,000 custom fields to about 400 custom fields if we had the ability to have individual labels by form. So reporting is a big one, and I think there are some not huge changes needed, but improvements to custom forms and custom fields would be beneficial. My experience with reporting in Adobe Workfront so far is that the reporting could be better. The ability to report is great, but I think it is too difficult. Regarding dashboards, they are crucial to be able to pull information from different levels, but that's also a negative because it is very difficult to do that on a report. If I have issue-level data and project-level data that I need to see, with some custom coding, you can do some of it in a report, but in general, if you have a lot of that blended data between levels, you need to use a dashboard, which requires two different reports due to the difficulty in pulling data at the different levels into one thing.

Excellent portfolio management SaaS - strategy, savings, visibility
I haven't used the product for over a year, so this could be out of date but entering information was somewhat cumbersome. PPM systems in general are a challenge to keep populated with current information. The business priority of portfolio visibility must be communicated to users and reinforced that the project doesn't exist unless it's updated in the system.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"When compared with other project management tools or workflow tools, Adobe Workfront is far better than other tools in the market now."
"The usability of the system has been great, it was by far the easiest product to use based on the products that we reviewed and the adoption with the use of the product has been great in terms of people understanding the system."
"Instead of following everything on email, business users can track everything on Adobe Workfront when the other systems are integrated with it."
"The best part of Workfront is that it is a good system for large jobs as well as smaller scale projects."
"Adobe Workfront offers a streamlined process that is more user-friendly compared to other tools in the market, providing comprehensive features with built-in integration for creative tools, addressing the pain point of creative collaboration in the content supply chain."
"The best features in Adobe Workfront from my perspective are the project management and automation from the back end, the tool called Workfront Fusion where we can automate processes."
"AtTask's ability to quickly apply project templates to any given request (e.g. tasks with owners, dependencies, and timing) gives order to a busy workload and clarity to business owners seeking to get work out the door."
"AtTask is a great project management and workflow management tool."
"Very configurable software; almost any stage-gate process can be mapped and defined in the software giving excellent visibility to your project portfolio."

Cons

"Some of the specific functions in the system can get a little quirky and could use some help, but those are really for unique cases and not general system functionality."
"Reporting is a bit limited; while basic reporting is completely fulfilled and you can present the information in clear graphs, when you try to create complex relations (historic vs forecast, capacity vs demand) things get more complicated, there are limitations and you need workarounds to obtain the desired (or closest to the desired) information."
"I would have to say the "Updates Tab" where comments on the projects are posted."
"Workfront still has a lot of growing to do in the proofing and review areas of the application. Additionally, the document review process is way too clunky and needs to be streamlined."
"Customizing and maintaining Workfront can be very time consuming."
"Some of my reporting needs, I have had to add custom calculations and when I have called to get help, they say it is a custom ask."
"Their agile tools are not as good as they could be, not as good as competitor products."
"Workfront works well if you are just trying to use out of the box functionality but once you try and get specific to your own business needs, it lacks in flexibility."
"Entering information was somewhat cumbersome."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Adobe purchased Workfront in the past year, and they're putting work into developing the platform, so I expect the price to rise. It isn't cheap, but it's reasonable for the value it provides. It isn't Monday.com where you pick a license with a set price, and you've got a project manager."
"Speaking about pricing, I wouldn't recommend it to a smaller company because I do think the price point is higher than other solutions that can work."
"Adobe Workfront is an expensive solution."
"The pricing is a barrier to implementation. It is expensive compared to other competitors. Speaking about licensing, they have a private manager license for $1000, which you can use for administration as well. Then they offer a worker license for $500, and then a reviewer or contributor license which is free."
"The pricing of Workfront is completely license based."
"We are partners with Adobe, so we get the licensing at a cheaper rate."
