Containerization has unified diverse microservices and delivers faster, cost‑efficient deployments
Amazon Elastic Container Service offers many features including VPC Lattice, service discovery, service connect option for internal communications, and private hosted zones via Cloud Map, with multiple features within Amazon Elastic Container Service Fargate container itself, including EC2, Fargate, and Spot Instance.Out of those features, the one that has made the biggest difference for my team and workflow is the ease of scaling, logging, monitoring, and easy deployments, as well as being self-managed by AWS, facilitating multiple things such as internal communication and private networking. I would add that there is a namespace service where I am using service discovery, with a few more networking-related features, including VPC Resolver, which impacts our VPC and Amazon Elastic Container Service environment to control incoming and outgoing traffic. Amazon Elastic Container Service has impacted my organization positively by being very helpful, cost-optimized, and easy to deploy; from a developer perspective, user perspective, and DevOps team perspective, it accommodates everyone, whether they are a fresher, intermediate, or advanced user, thanks to its easy UI features. I have seen specific outcomes including time savings and the removal of code dependency on DevOps when using Amazon Elastic Container Service, contributing to saving time, cost, and many other benefits, with these being the two major points. Regarding Amazon Elastic Container Service's AI capabilities, I think its governance and security are solid due to features including ARM-specific secret management, IAM-specific containerization, task role, task execution role, and read-only EBS related elements within container mounting volumes, showcasing multiple security features provided within the UI. When it comes to the accuracy and reliability of outputs from Amazon Elastic Container Service's AI capabilities, I find it far better, especially since AWS launched their AI-related help bot, generating accurate answers that help resolve and debug issues.

Has autoscaling features that helps to save costs
We use the solution to deploy microservices.  The tool is very powerful, scalable, and easy to manage. Its autoscaling features helped us save costs.  Google Container Engine needs to be able to manage network products.  I have been using the product for two years.  I rate the product's…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"A really good feature of ECS is the integration with AWS services, especially the networking services like Elastic Load Balancer, Service Mesh, and Service Map, which simplifies the service discovery process."
"Amazon Elastic Container Service makes horizontal scaling easy and is especially effective when working under the ECS service."
"The tool helps us with maneuverability. Its most valuable feature is autoscaling."
"Amazon Elastic Container Service serves the function it's supposed to serve."
"As a user, I am mostly on the technical side in a techno-managerial role, so it becomes easy for me to host something onto Amazon Elastic Container Service; the onboarding time for Amazon Elastic Container Service is easy and there are all sorts of pre-baked templates to use."
"For me, the best feature of ECS is Fargate because I don't have to manage anything. Instead, everything is managed by AWS and all I have to do, in essence, is configure my containers and deploy them."
"Amazon EC2 Container Service has multiple valuable features like load balancers and autoscalers."
"The most valuable feature of Amazon EC2 Container Service is its flexibility."
"The tool is very powerful, scalable, and easy to manage. Its autoscaling features helped us save costs."

Cons

"Support could be better with response time and knowledge of staff."
"We noticed a problem where our container doesn't always run, and the traffic in our secured license exceeds 100%, leading to increased container costs. We are working to understand and reduce this traffic to control costs."
"I rate the platform's stability an eight out of ten. It easily dies."
"I think that it would help if the vendor provided more use cases and explanations as to how ECS can be utilized."
"I also believe there are limitations in terms of upgrading. The software has the concept of dedicated servers that you can manage. However, an issue arises when you can't match one operating system with another that you've already purchased. You can't simply merge them; instead, you have to buy a completely new one. This limitation has caused some challenges for us."
"The solution's stability is an area of concern where improvements are required."
"Visualization is an important factor for me, and I don't think that the visuals within ECS are good enough because it doesn't show you all the details you might need to see at a glance."
"Amazon Elastic Container Service’s initial setup is a bit difficult."
"Google Container Engine needs to be able to manage network products."
