Network automation has reduced troubleshooting time and supports faster issue resolution
The biggest and best feature I have experienced with Auvik Network Management (ANM) is automatic network discovery, along with features such as topology map, instant alerts, real-time monitoring, easy remote access, and simple dashboards. Among those features, I find automatic network discovery to be the most useful because it gives a clear picture of the entire network without having to create manual diagrams. It is very easy to use Auvik Network Management (ANM), so even a new team member can quickly understand the network because everything is displayed in a very clear way. Auvik Network Management (ANM) has positively impacted our organization by reducing troubleshooting time, improving network visibility, providing a very clear picture, and helping us support multiple client networks and environments very efficiently. We have noticed a 35 to 40% improvement in troubleshooting speed, less manual work in documenting any network system, faster responses to network issues, and better uptime with the client networks.

AI assistant has transformed network troubleshooting and now reduces downtime and support tickets
Marvis Virtual Network Assistant has resolved all problems that network administrators face, making it challenging to identify areas for improvement. Marvis provides good analytics, recommendations, and problem resolutions. One potential enhancement would be to add different languages for different countries because Marvis currently uses only English. For example, since I live in Ukraine, it would be beneficial to communicate with Marvis in Ukrainian because not all administrators know English.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Auvik Network Management (ANM) serves as a backbone for monitoring and proactive and reactive responses, which is faster than before."
"We have seen time-to-value with Auvik; it's a beneficial product, and we use it daily."
"Its network discovery capabilities are very impressive. The discovery piece is amazing. I don't know if they have an AI or some type of advanced intelligence inside of their program that helps with the discovery piece. I haven't seen anything that discovers products that well and is able to label them, tag them, and pull as much information about them. I don't know what drives that engine, but I'm just absolutely blown away by it. It is cool."
"It also integrates with our ticketing system. We use ConnectWise and having that integration is valuable for billing and for all-around general management. Having one product that can integrate with everything is valuable because we don't have to worry about building out APIs or custom maps to do that for us."
"Remote accessibility of the network devices is the most valuable feature. I often have to log into switches and routers to make changes, and I can do so from any computer as long as I have an Internet connection. I don't need to have my laptop or a VPN. Auvik is faster."
"If you are looking to manage your network, Auvik Network Management (ANM) is a very good tool."
"The most valuable feature is device discovery through SNMP."
"I like the way that it auto-configures itself to do the mapping."
"If you ask any questions about Marvis, it will respond immediately and use some solution. It will be very easy and save you time."
"I believe the pricing of Marvis Virtual Network Assistant is reasonable because it allows for a decrease in the quantity of network administrators needed and reduces operational costs."
"Marvis Virtual Network Assistant uses AI to find problems or to get information from devices."

Cons

"The global dashboard needs work, and I'm not the only one saying this."
"Auvik could be better integrated with our ticketing system ConnectWise Manage. We tried integrating Auvik to create tickets, but working to implement a more granular classification system based on priority. The important thing is that we get the alerts, regardless of priority, but that's something that can be improved."
"The general feature set could use some work. For network mapping and network alerting, it's great for what it does. But it could provide more monitoring, such as jitter monitoring, which it doesn't have, and round-trip time for packets. I would like to see more network detail on the actual traffic that's flowing through the network."
"The network map and dashboard of Auvik Network Management (ANM) are a little bit tricky at the beginning, so people aren't trying to just steal a copy."
"They can definitely build more alerts."
"The quality of technical support varies greatly."
"They may need to add some more integration pieces with different vendors."
"The visualization of network mapping is good. The only complaint would be that VLANs don't necessarily show up as a regular LAN does. They do show up, but there is some manual tuning you have to do to make that look perfect."
"One potential enhancement would be to add different languages for different countries because Marvis currently uses only English."
"It would be a good idea to integrate the solution to support other vendors besides Juniper."
"It should add real-time application visibility."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It was worth every penny that we paid for it. It's not necessarily the cheapest. I don't know what its current price is. I haven't been involved in the pricing part of it for a couple of years. I know that a couple of years ago, it was a bit pricey, but it saved us many times over the cost that we were paying for it."
"I love the pricing. It makes a lot of sense. It allows you to use your own metal, which is great because it enables us to go higher-end for some clients and lower-end for others... Even having the flexibility to switch clients between the Performance (expert) and the Essentials (simple) version of Auvik, on the fly, is really unheard of."
"The pricing for Auvik Network Management (ANM) is great; it is comparable to other solutions, and for what it does, it actually provides more value for the money than some of the other major competitors."
"I don't think Auvik's pricing should be based on device, which it is right now. I don't know what their market share is or how they compete with Domotz, but if they want to stay competitive, Auvik should have simpler pricing."
"Auvik is probably one of the more expensive options on the market for what it does. But if, as a managed services provider, you are working with clients that have large networks with large numbers of network devices, you can find efficiency to be gained that will make that value up."
"I'd say Auvik's price is reasonable. I don't know how much we paid for the old one, so I can't compare the two. But I think it's a good value, considering all the time saved and the information you can get from it."
"I believe that our bill is somewhere around the $600 range per month. We're monitoring about 63 machines. Most of them are servers. So, $10 to monitor it for an entire month is amazing. You couldn't get somebody in India for that cheap."
"I believe we have a special arrangement with them because we, as an MSP, take care of some of their technical services."
"Marvis Virtual Network Assistant is not an expensive solution."
