Quick automation has simplified my app deployments and has let me focus on data engineering
The overall experience with AWS Elastic Beanstalk was excellent. The performance made deploying and managing my application very easy, and it was really smooth and efficient. The automatic scaling can be improved so it can handle traffic changes more smoothly. I have given a rating of nine out of ten because auto scaling works reliably and it handles traffic spikes well with minimal manual effort needed. There is a balance between simplicity and control. I have not given a ten out of ten because sometimes the scaling decision can feel slightly delayed depending on the metrics. AWS Elastic Beanstalk is powerful, but not as advantageous or granular as ECS or EKS auto-scaling. Customization is good but not fully flexible for complex architectures.

Event-based data exchange has improved integrations but analytics and support remain weak
SAP Cloud Platform is a strong part of their offering. They are very poor in the analytics area. You do not have much available. If you want to have analytics, you have to do everything yourself. Everything is very expensive, so it is not helping with the infrastructure costs. There is a lot of latency and glitches. The support is very difficult and not really helpful. The fact is you are completely losing control of the infrastructure. If something bad happens, there is nothing you can really do. You have to ask the support and the support will answer when they want or when they can.

Pros

"One of the most valuable aspects is that developers can access logs directly. They can download them from the AWS console within Elastic Beanstalk."

"Elastic Beanstalk is helpful and easy to manage services, even when dealing with multiple clients."
"Elastic Beanstalk is very easy to use, providing infrastructure to deploy our third-party application to the cloud within 15 to 20 minutes."
"The simplicity in the speed of provisioning users is what I like best about Elastic Beanstalk."
"The management of environments is a valuable feature."
"The feature I like most about Elastic Beanstalk is the way I do not have to do anything, just deploy my app."
"Elastic Beanstalk helps reduce system administration as it automates many tasks."
"I rate the solution's scalability an eight out of ten. My company has 800 users."
"At the moment the most valuable aspects of the solution are the project management and finance features."
"The solution has a lot of great features."
"The pre-delivered content from the SAP cloud platform is definitely a strength."
"It's very easily implemented, especially with the Grow Platform."

"SAP is an excellent company with an excellent reputation, excellent products, and dedicated customer support."
"The solution has a lot of great features; it's great to use for procurement processes and cash management tasks, including bank communication, and consolidation and group reporting are helpful."

Cons

"Sometimes there are issues when auto-scaling with CloudFront."
"Sometimes it is difficult to use for the first time. The automatic scaling functionality could use improvement."
"There are areas for improvement in Elastic Beanstalk, especially in the management part."
"One area where AWS Elastic Beanstalk struggles is with the complexity of deployments. As deployments become more complex, technical constraints can become a burden."
"The automatic scaling can be improved so it can handle traffic changes more smoothly."
"Maybe the company could create more option packages, such as more bundles of configuration."
"Elastic Beanstalk is powerful, however, it could be enhanced in areas where it abstracts infrastructure management, sometimes limiting advanced users who want granular control over resources like EC2 instances, networking, or load balancers."
"AWS Elastic Beanstalk could improve its auto-scaling feature to better detect potential AI-based attacks or misuses that could lead to unexpected costs."
"The product could be improved for consistent user interfaces."
"The product's support team has certain shortcomings, not from the solution's portal perspective but from the back-end side."
"Everything is very expensive, so it is not helping with the infrastructure costs."
"The product could be improved for consistent user interfaces. Although it is one platform, the user interface logic (e.g., where buttons are defined on the screen) differs from service to service."
"I would like for it to have integration to GitHub."
"The addition of more industry use cases would be an improvement."
"The cost when it comes to monitoring can be difficult. We have to be very, very careful and aware of any changes so the price won't go up too much."
"One crucial aspect where SAP lags behind in flexibility is customization to suit specific business requirements. SAP needs to understand that customization is inevitable and should be more supportive of business-driven customization."
