Targeted stakeholder views have improved decision making and reduced architecture costs
BiZZdesign HoriZZon offers various valuable features. The best ones, besides those I have mentioned, include the AI space with the Diagram Describer and the Explorer functionality. I understand that BiZZdesign HoriZZon is also working on the Diagram Importer, which complements the Diagram Describer feature, providing full import and export functionality. Together with the contributor role and targeted stakeholder management, these features are essential. BiZZdesign HoriZZon introduced the Dynamic Solution Intent, enhancing the solution architecture by engaging diverse stakeholders with architectural artifacts. It supports the development of holistic solutions using reusable repository components. The deployment is hybrid cloud-based, specifically using Amazon Web Services as the cloud provider. I have also seen the implementation of return on investment features that contribute significantly to the organization’s overall effectiveness.

The user interface is easy to use, and the product performs well, but the dashboard and the monitoring features are limited
We use the product to design workflows. We model and install them on the server. We use the Community edition The modeling features are easy. The performance of the tool is good. The user interface is easy to use. I have used the product for complex processes and sub-processes successfully. The…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"In my experience, BiZZdesign HoriZZon is very stable."
"The main outcome is that we have centralized documentation instead of having information in emails or somewhere else, and it is easier for the whole organization to find information."
"BiZZdesign Architect separates model from views and has a quite extensive set of analytical stuff built in to be very useful in complex environments."
"After that implementation, the way the architecture and inventory got streamlined, we did not need a really big architecture team, which helped the company overall save costs by repurposing the architects in different other departments where they were needed and helped streamline resourcing and save costs in enterprise architecture itself."
"I used BiZZdesign HoriZZon at two organizations. At Manchester Metropolitan University, I used it with a small team for architectural modeling of the student record system. We modeled teams, process objects, and their interactions with applications. We also used it to model a gradual rollout with plateaus showing migration over time. At the BBC, I used it to model software services for publishing content online. I showed key model views to senior stakeholders using Horizon, allowing them to modify and score applications and services."
"Overall, the solution is invaluable to our organization."
"I like the flexibility of the modeling part for standards like ArchiMate and, at the same time, BPMN. It allows us to connect elements from different areas and to have a single repository and a single source of truth. It gives us one place to do analysis throughout the organization."
"I have seen measurable improvements and concrete benefits, with time and productivity gains resulting in time savings with a ratio of twenty to thirty percent and an ability to deploy quite quickly, since we found modules that already existed or applications that already existed and in that case, we gained in power."
"Studio provides an opportunity to get early feedback from real users and quickly change the process and forms."
"When there is heavy customization in the process Bonita is the best compare to other products in the market."
"It is a great product that is powerful in developing applications."
"The most valuable features of Bonita are the connectors, detailed documentation, and web applications. The documentation was useful because it is how I learned how to use it."
"This product is very easy-to-use and user-friendly."
"Development of forms and flows."
"It is more than helpful, it is worth the effort of learning to better our company."
"We use the on-premises deployment model and the Bonita Community Edition of the solution."

Cons

"The ability to generate charts and deal with a use case involving Kibana was quite difficult."
"It should be more open to integrating with other existing tools. Although there has been progress in the past."
"The repository of duplicate objects is bad."
"There could be simpler modelling."
"The frame, the labeling, the text, everything, they are scattered."
"While it is not the fastest in terms of performance, it is workable and requires reasonable patience."
"The visibility of things and the user experience in HoriZZon are horrible."
"In my opinion, BiZZdesign HoriZZon could be improved especially in the management, for example, the management of licenses."
"There is a considerable learning curve."
"We are struggling a bit with integrations."
"Scalability of the Bonita BPM Community version is low."
"BPMN 2.0 notations are not all supported, would love to see them all coming in (e.g. complex gateway)."
"The initial setup is not easy compared to other products."
"There is a need for more components in the library and additional customization options for these components."
"The documentation and examples definitely could be enhanced."
"Bonita can improve by offering more flexibility."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"If one is very cheap and ten is expensive, I rate the product price as a seven out of ten."
"[The] Orbus... pricing model was based on every single functionality having a price. The pricing was comparable but if we wanted to scale, it would have ended up being a lot more expensive. BiZZdesign gave us one price with all of the functionality, and we could scale as much as we needed."
"In terms of this particular product usage, my clients currently only use per-user licenses."
"The price is reasonable."
"We were customers and bought licenses from them. We used their remote instance initially but upgraded to the on-device version due to lag. For pricing, we paid about 2200 pounds a year per seat for the client installation at an educational rate. I'm not sure about commercial rates. I managed to get a free copy at BBC since it was for evaluation purposes."
"First and foremost within the scope of improvement for the solution would be the cost. It's very costly..."
"I haven't found any issues with the scalability and licensing parts that are access-related."
"The pricing model is slightly on the high side and could be more competitive for long-term partnerships."
"The Community Edition comes free of charge."
"Licensing cost for the Enterprise edition comes out to be around 40,000 a year. There is also a Community edition, which is free. Some customers can go for the Community edition, but some of them require the Enterprise edition. Big companies go for the Enterprise edition, which comes with a lot of additional features such as a mobile app."
"have installed the image of Bonita BPM on Amazon AWS and there is just one option to use and pay for."
"Price to service ratio with Bonita BPM is good."
"You pay an annual fee and can have an unlimited number of processes and users."
"We are using the Community Version, which can be used free of charge."
"I believe this is a very good financial choice."
"The price of the solution is reasonable."
