Centralized device management has automated onboarding and improves remote security compliance
One thing I feel Microsoft Intune could improve is troubleshooting visibility. In many cases, when a policy or application deployment fails, the error messages are a bit generic. So, admins still spend time checking logs manually or testing on devices one by one. Compared to the simplicity of deployment, troubleshooting sometimes feels less mature. I also think reporting and real-time monitoring could be stronger. The dashboard gives useful information, but in large environments, many teams still depend on additional tools or scripts for deeper reporting and analytics. If I had to focus on one area first, I would probably choose troubleshooting and reporting. Deployment through Microsoft Intune is generally straightforward, but when something fails, identifying the exact root cause can still take more time than expected. Error messages are sometimes too generic, and admins often have to dig through logs, sync status, or multiple portals to understand what actually happened. I think user experience and policy management could also improve further. Microsoft Intune has become much better over the years, but sometimes the admin portal still feels fragmented because certain configurations open in different sections or redirect to older interfaces. For new admins, especially, it can take time to understand where everything is located. Another thing is policy conflict handling. In larger organizations, multiple device policies, compliance rules, and configuration profiles can overlap. When conflicts happen, the visibility is not always very clear, so admins spend time figuring out which policy actually won or caused the issue.

Helpful technical support, and performs well, but initial setup could be simplified
They are constantly improving the scalability of BlackBerry Enterprise Mobility Suite. More collaborative features are being developed. I know they have integrations with a lot of other vendors and applications, and it's constantly growing. Our company has approximately 3,000 users. I would say we have ten people for actual administrative roles with Blackberry.

Centralized mobile management has reduced manual work and now secures apps, data, and access
Ivanti Endpoint Manager offers excellent features, working well with both iOS and Android, positioning itself as a market leader and providing a range of deployment features, including quick deployment of business apps, configuration profiles, compliance profiles, password policies, iOS and Android upgrades, and jailbreak device detection. The speed at which Ivanti Endpoint Manager deploys apps and configurations significantly impacts my daily operations, saving my IT team time and allowing them to utilize their effort in other activities. Deploying an app to 100 devices only requires pushing it through Ivanti Endpoint Manager, and once the device is online, it auto-installs the configuration item. Ivanti Endpoint Manager provides features for Apple DEP devices including Apple auto enrollment and integrates well with Zero-Touch for Android, allowing new devices to be preconfigured for out-of-box experiences and OS level security to be controlled, enhancing my management capabilities. Ivanti Endpoint Manager has positively impacted my organization as it is my main tool for managing mobile devices, reducing IT effort, ensuring devices needing updates receive the proper updates, and blacklisting non-compliant devices. It deploys configuration items including Wi-Fi profiles, SCEP profiles, root certificates, app-related profiles, and DLP policies to safeguard my infrastructure from malicious access. I have seen a reduction in time spent on device management because Ivanti Endpoint Manager automates small tasks and supports scripts, saving my IT employees time and effort compared to manual management.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"There are so many features, but Windows Autopilot is one of the features that are very valuable for most customers."
"The most valuable feature of Microsoft Intune is that it is more of a one-stop shop, providing an easier experience."
"We have used conditional access policies to prevent users from copying internal resources or internal data to external devices, which has helped protect our organizations from being compromised."
"Intune does consolidate all endpoint and security management tools into one place, making everything easier to manage."
"Its protection policies are most valuable. It protects mobile devices as well as individual apps. It is pretty scalable, and its documentation is also pretty good. It is also pretty straightforward to deploy."
"Microsoft Intune is a tool designed for enterprise customers to protect enterprise data from leakage or sharing."
"Intune provides full endpoint visibility and IT control across device platforms. You can individualize it for your company with the Intune Company Portal app."
"Our configuration profiles used to be all over the place. For example, there's a lot of legacy stuff in Active Directory. Going through Intune has helped us enforce settings, which has improved device security and functionality. When you apply something through Intune, you know it works. You don't have to worry about a legacy setting from Active Directory that was uploaded by somebody seven years ago. With Intune, you can see that a device has a setting, and you can be confident that the device is configured how you want."
"My customers find that they don't have to worry about managing their VPN connections for their mobile users, because BlackBerry handles all of that, as opposed to if you're just using Office 365."
"We are able to secure and control all company-owned devices which is essential for us as a financial company."
"We can access emails within the active sync."
"We are using BlackBerry Work applications for accessing emails, calendars, and contacts, and the users are happy to have an easy way to have access to emails on the go."
"Access to the emails on the go was most valuable."
"Security is the most valuable feature, because we are a financial institution, we have a large number of clients, and we have to make sure all communications are secure and PCI compliant."
"The most important feature is Blackberry Work, for sure, because that is where you have email."
"I think it's a very solid product and people generally like it."
"The main benefits of Ivanti Endpoint Manager include patch management and security benefits such as vulnerability management, and it is particularly useful for managing devices in a centralized console."
"Patch management is one of the greatest features of Ivanti Endpoint Manager because we have Rollout Projects in the Management Console that we are using for the patching process."
"Ivanti Endpoint Manager has served us well over the years, supporting operating systems from Windows XP to Windows 10."
"What I appreciate most about Ivanti Endpoint Manager is that it's easy to enroll the device, the patch is very impressive, and the patching part of Ivanti Endpoint Manager is much easier compared to InTune, where in InTune, you have to create the app deployment, but Ivanti Endpoint Manager makes it much easier to update any patch, patch updates, and application updates."
"Ivanti Endpoint Manager offers excellent features, working well with both iOS and Android, positioning itself as a market leader and providing a range of deployment features, including quick deployment of business apps, configuration profiles, compliance profiles, password policies, iOS and Android upgrades, and jailbreak device detection."
"The most beneficial aspect of Ivanti Endpoint Manager is that it is cost-friendly."
"The interface is intuitive for administrators to understand patching, package creation, deployment, troubleshooting, remote access, and PowerShell scripting automation."
"The best feature that Ivanti Endpoint Manager offers is remote desktop management, which allows viewing a user's screen."

Cons

"There is room for improvement in integrating additional features such as Purview and SharePoint activities into Intune."
"The time we have to wait to deploy policies has room for improvement."
"A detailed device diagnostic feature is missing. Also, operating system deployment and imaging are missing."
"Applying security recommendations can be difficult in Microsoft Intune. Sometimes, they give you recommendations, but you need a different server to manage the pieces, or you have to go to each device individually. However, it has been improving. Before, there were certain policies you could not implement directly in Intune, but now I see progress. I would like to see more improvement in policy management, similar to how we used group policies on-premises."
"Reporting needs to be better. Sometimes, it is way too slow, and it is not even accurate."
"It would be interesting to integrate the server side of Intune. Some group policy updates we have on the Windows Server side and possibly some on the client side could also be included."
"I'd like some more reporting so that I don't have to delve into PowerShell and I can pull more of the local device information such as memory, apps installed, etc. It would be nice to be able to see the apps that are present there but might not be managed. For example, if they installed 7Zip, it could report that back via an installed program or feature to see what was currently installed."
"The solution needs to improve reporting. Sometimes, it shows double or triple entries of the same thing, which affects the count's accuracy. Also, some applications onboarded in Microsoft Intune do not get updated. When we look for solutions online, there is often no clear answer."
"I know for the BlackBerry Connect, our users want to see more features, such as audio and video. I know the current version doesn't have that."
"The entry level support needs improvement, but a lot of it has to do with the fact that we do not have premium support. Therefore, we have to go through Level 1 support for any issues."
"The initial installation could be simplified."
"The installations on the device could be simpler. It is a good solution, and all the features are there. So, there isn't a lot to improve. I'm sure they already have their thought process on how to improve it."
"Support is terrible for the most part."
"It would be ideal if there was something for communication with Microsoft tools like Teams or Skype for Business, or perhaps even with Zoom for conference calls."
"It didn’t help us because we ran into lot of issues, and BlackBerry support couldn’t figure out the issues in a timely fashion."
"The pain points for us would be the activation."
"Improvements could be made in creating collections and enhancing patch packaging."
"The reporting functionality and user interface could be improved. The options to generate reports should be more dynamic rather than static."
"When it comes to the reporting part, it needs to be improved. The executive reports and the deployment reports can be more improvised."
"Ivanti Endpoint Manager can improve support for Mac and Windows devices, as it currently excels with iOS and Android."
"The area that could be improved within Ivanti Endpoint Manager is integration, particularly with tools such as Splunk or potentially ServiceNow."
"They should create instructional videos for every feature such as software management and patch management to help beginners who are new to Ivanti Endpoint Manager."
"For larger environments such as ours, the pricing for the Ivanti Endpoint Manager should be more competitive considering how much we pay every year, making it a constant challenge to get the product and license renewed."
"Ivanti Endpoint Manager is not user-friendly and feels outdated, which affects usability."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is reasonable. When you have Microsoft 365 E3 or E5 license, it is already licensed in that license. So, you could say it is free."
"Its price is quite okay. I wish they provide certain additional features with the same license."
"The licensing costs we leave up to the customer and these vary from one to another."
"The price of Intune is often included as part of a bundle with other Microsoft licenses, which makes it somewhat cheaper."
"It is reasonable for the features it has."
"Our enterprise agreement includes Microsoft Intune at no additional cost."
"I have no comment on pricing of the solution."
"Microsoft Intune is a cost effective choice. It is less expensive than other products on the market."
"Sometimes, it is very hard to get an overview because there are so many different suites to find out what is the right thing for new customers."
"With the new licensing model, there seems to be a significant increase in cost, which makes it difficult to push forward and talk with the business."
"We currently pay by the year, but the licenses are calculated on a monthly basis."
"In my opinion, we're paying an awful lot for what we get, compared to other vendors. I don't deal with the pricing, but it does seem to be a bit pricey for the things that we get, especially, when you compare them to other vendors, such as VMware, Citrix, who have all bought up other players in this space. VMware offers AirWatch free as part of their packages."
"The licensing costs are paid on a yearly basis because we just renewed the license. If you have some big issue, they will also charge you."
"It was on a yearly support contract, and the licenses were perpetual. There was also the implementation cost and the support cost for the integrator."
"For the number of licenses, I believe it was approximately $500,000 per year, or for three years."
"We are paying $200 annually. You also need to have a hardware server or a license for the server so there could be some additional fees added on to that."
