Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Manager at a computer software company with 501-1,000 employees
Stable, easy to install, and cost effective, but it needs better integration and data management
It needs better integration with other tools like Jira. Better reporting and better data management are also needed. I believe the way they're structured is the flat file. So it'd be better if they actually used a database for the data storage, and a more robust portal. I would like more flexible reporting.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Automation Anywhere is unlike any other software; Automation Anywhere provides me with my bread and butter, and I just love the tool."
"The ease of use and its ability to change the code when something in the main process or core process changes. The ease of use is really good."
"I strongly recommend Automation Anywhere as a compelling platform for RPA needs."
"One of the most valuable features is object cloning, the ability to get into websites and do things faster."
"My experience with Automation Anywhere is quite good because we can automate the whole end-to-end process with no human intervention, and we are able to focus on higher-value activities rather than working on the same repetitive tasks, which is quite important and gives the highest impact to the business as well."
"Automation Anywhere has presented us with a platform that is easily accessible from a web interface, enabling us to write code for RPA scripts without having to download a dedicated software application."
"It's pretty simple and non-invasive."
"We have saved customers 400% in terms of time saved by implementing this product."
"It has helped the help desk team. We get our tickets in and are able to support our customers, the end-users, with this solution."
"This product solidly handles incident management, problem management, and change management."
"It is stable and its technical support is good and quick."
"We have found the reports and the lockdown on a ticket valuable, so only one person can update issues."
"We use BMC FootPrints Service Core to manage network issues, infrastructure issues, software issues, ERP, and our facility, using it for work orders and as an extra ticketing system."
"This is certainly a solution that I recommend for big enterprise."
"Implemented system-wide process for approving and tracking "employee move" requests for over 15,000 employees."
"Having a one stop shop for linked assets and tickets has improved end user adoption and led to a reduction in phone/email tickets."
"The two most valuable features are the portal and reporting."
"Absolutely, we have seen a return on our investment."
"It is more flexible than our current solution."

Cons

"So far, the stability is not good. We are trying to improve this because we are facing a lot of instability issues."
"We have had a lot of issues using Automation Anywhere and find ourselves stuck."
"Bringing a DevOps model for bot implementation integrated through private bot store might be a good idea to improve the tool."
"I feel a lack of convenience when I try to scale it."
"In the 10.7 version, the back-end port for the MetaBot password has looping. This has been a type of limitation."
"The support and user community need improvement."
"I believe there is room for improvement in Automation Anywhere, particularly in their training programs, which need more development."
"I would like to see more bots available right out-of-the-box in the SAP area. For example, if you take the overall OTC in our organization, we have to contact 15 teams. Even if we provide one big bot for the OTC, it won't work. It will not be used by one person. So if there could be more specific bots out-of-the-box, that would be really helpful."
"It would be better if it were more user-friendly. The reporting part in the version we have is a little complicated. It takes too long to build and report. It would also be better if there were another way to manage notifications."
"Reporting could be improved along with the option to create more fine tuned reports and to create specific fields for each type of ticket."
"There are still a few odd issues in FootPrints 12.x, which are frustrating."
"We need more customizable reporting functionality."
"It is pretty clunky and not very intuitive. Even though I have used it for many years, I don't think it is a very good ITSM platform in general."
"To improve the product for our usage, the pricing maybe could be a bit lower."
"It is pretty clunky and not very intuitive. Even though I have used it for many years, I don't think it is a very good ITSM platform in general. In the telecom space, a lot of telco providers use this solution, but from my perspective, it is not very user friendly. It is a bit more laborious. There are still too many human touchpoints. There can be a little bit more automation. It would also be good to integrate it with other tools. Integration is quite difficult, especially in the telco space."
"Sometimes it is difficult to make the application do exactly what you need."
"It's a very cost-effective solution, but it's not robust."
"It needs better integration with other tools like Jira."
"Yes. Major system issues and outages during our implementation."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I do not know the price, but I am told that it is cheaper than UiPath."
"It is fantastic. It has been great. It is perfectly priced for the quality received. When paying for quality, that is exactly what you get."
"It is somewhere in the middle. The price and value of Automation Anywhere are better than UiPath. The pricing is good globally. It could be a little bit cheaper, but it is good."
"The setup cost for this is onetime and licensing is based on your choice of product."
"Pricing is too high for small-scale groups. The Control Room yearly fee is high, making it difficult to break even."
"It saves me around $100,000 a year."
"Automation Anywhere is somewhat expensive. The prices are slightly higher, but if you need something, you must pay for it."
"Initially, they charged a premium, but now the rest of the vendors have increased their overall pricing and Automation Anywhere is not that high at this time. It's pretty viable."
"Cost was on par with other service desk products, and well below Remedy, while still being a BMC product."
"This solution has good pricing."
"The licensing for FootPrints is a perpetual license with an annual support fee."
"Our costs are well over $250,000."
"The price is approximately $70 per agent, per month."
