Has required significant improvements due to limited features but offers simple implementation and good support
Boomi AtomSphere API Management has very few features. If you ask me to name the top two, I would say MuleSoft and Apigee, as it depends on the customer-to-customer use cases. After those, WSO2, Kong, and whether you say Informatica API Manager or Boomi AtomSphere API Management, they stand with only three out of ten features which are essential for API management. All the features that Apigee has, they need to add. All the features that MuleSoft has, they need to add. It is not a simple task. The problem is that they lack features. It is not their performance. There are many features to mention. When you take and compare all the features that Apigee has and all the features that MuleSoft has, they need to implement those features.

API management has strengthened security and monitoring but still needs better support and tooling
There are areas of IBM API Connect that need to be improved. I want what Gravitee made, which is much better. Gravitee made many samples for different use cases. First of all, they made examples of use cases, codes, and what the module expects and what the module returns for multiple examples and use cases inside the development. I do not even have to go to the documentation website because everything is included inside the tool when I work on it. This is great, in fact. IBM API Connect should show examples. One other thing is the support. The support of IBM is in India. Every time I want to ask something, they say they need logs, they want this, they want that. Gravitee API asks me to explain the problem without asking a thousand times as if it is a request for a green card in the USA. Then they really explain quickly. IBM is a big company, so everything is standardized with the approach of "You do that, you do that, you request that. If you do not have that, you do not reply to the client." Clients want flexibility today, even if it is a huge company. A stressed client is a client that will want to change to other flexible solutions. When everything is fine, we do not care, but when there is stress and problems, that is when the customer of IBM evaluates the tool really. It is when there are problems. IBM makes a lot of efforts on sales and technical sales, and then that is it.

Pros

"Boomi AtomSphere API Management is a good product for integrating with Boomi as a backend service."
"We can create APIs straightforwardly and quickly and build jobs for data migration."
"Boomi allows for more secure URLs and easy customization of HTTP and HTTPS protocols, which I find very beneficial."
"Integrations take less time."
"AtomSphere API Management is a simple platform that's easy to use. If you're using it on-prem, there's a little learning curve."
"We can develop almost any interface that we need."
"The user interface, which we use to create the integration, basically has the data structures collected, is pretty easy to navigate, is a drag and drop style of working, and there is very little code required so the creation of the endpoints is very simple."
"AtomSphere is tightly integrated into the Boomi iPaaS platform. And Boomi has been augmenting AtomSphere API Management for the past couple of years so version 2.0 is better than 1.0."
"The most valuable features are: 1. The centralized management: this provides a management module that can deploy and apply security policies to all APIs, including all the gateways that are deployed on-premises and on any cloud because the gateway component can run at a VMware or in a Kubernetes cluster."
"WSRR is a powerful component for getting the endpoints."
"We have been using this product for banking, insurance, and government use cases, performance-wise it is very good, it has been improved a lot from the beginning, from API Connect 4, 5, and now we have the latest version of it, and the product is available in various forms which gives us the flexibility to propose solutions to our customers."
"One of the most valuable features is the easy-to-use web interface."
"API Connects has absolutely helped to reduce the time it takes to deliver new integrations to my clients."
"I have found IBM API Connect to be highly secure, efficient, easy to deploy, and has a great GUI. It can operate and integrate well with other vendors, such as Amazon, Google, and Microsoft."
"I'd recommend the solution to other users and organizations due to the fact that it is very, very easy to use."
"The most valuable features of the solution stem from the fact that it is very easy to use and is something that is easily configurable."

Cons

"It's difficult to integrate the on-prem application with the Dell Boomi Cloud. We have to check to ensure the Dell domain engine is running. It just requires some service endpoints from our on-prem application to connect to Dell Boomi Cloud to make it available to integrate. It would be better if AtomSphere API Management were offered as a purely SaaS application, so I wouldn't need an on-prem component to make it available. We could make a test call or provide some connection parameters. That should enable it to pull the data."
"Boomi AtomSphere API Management has very few features. If you ask me to name the top two, I would say MuleSoft and Apigee, as it depends on the customer-to-customer use cases."
"The solution must provide more AI services."
"From an improvement perspective, the price could be cheaper."
"To some degree, you need to know what type or amount of API you are creating - whether it's a rest API or web service API. You need to know ETL in order to really get the most out of Boomi."
"The product is really complex to manage."
"Most of the basic functionality is there in Boomi, but APG is a more feature-rich solution."
"Scalability is an area where Boomi lacks."
"Components, like caching, should be implemented as policies, not requiring dependency on an external solution."
"IBM is also a bit pricey. On top of that, they have bugs that need to be fixed."
"Extracting the data could be improved."
"Automation for our Domino applications could be improved."
"The installation process could use improvement. I hope that in the next release, the installation process is easier."
"I wouldn't recommend this solution to other organizations at this time."
"It would be helpful to have access monitoring."
"I rated it an 8/10 because it's not fully mature yet."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price is reasonable."
"Boomi AtomSphere API Management gives customers a good price. Price-wise, the product is good."
"Boomi AtomSphere API Management is a cheap product."
"The product can get very expensive quickly if you connect to multiple databases."
"API Connect is expensive - I'd rate their pricing five out of ten."
"There was a need to purchase an upfront license or a one-time license or upfront license, but I cannot remember the details about it clearly."
"IBM API Connect could be cheaper."
"The pricing is significantly high."
"It is expensive when compared to other products in this class. There were no extra fees for add-ons or technical support."
"The pricing is too expensive with IBM. Sometimes, we prefer to go with an open source or something more lightweight."
"It would be a good idea to bring down the pricing by at least 20 to 30 percent."
"It is quite an expensive product."
