Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Automation has streamlined client data extraction and has improved reporting for business decisions
I work as a developer, and my manager is responsible for the research and analytics for the project with the client and business users. I am satisfied with BotFarm. I would rate my experience with BotFarm an eight out of ten. I do not see any room for improvement for BotFarm. I am using AI tools such as Amazon, Microsoft Azure, and ChatGPT. I am not using AI-powered bots in BotFarm. I am a partner with Automation Anywhere.

Automation has transformed manual reporting and data extraction into scheduled digital workflows
The interface of Fortra's Automate is similar to GoAnywhere. I am not completely pleased with it, although it is intuitive, but it lacks something in terms of complexity. There is still clicking through many items involved. There are two things I would improve in Fortra's Automate. One is about the interface, as I need it to be improved because it is somewhat complex to navigate. The second is about performance reporting. I want those reports to be customizable. You can generate these reports and see what is happening with error logs, but the customization option is limited. Additionally, there should be an option to export them. Currently, you can export as Excel and PDF, but there is no option to export and send them to your email.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We have leveraged automation to increase economies of scale and value-added work while reducing operating costs."
"One of the most valuable features is the error handler, as this command has helped me design bots that can handle multiple errors and exceptions."
"It improved the task performance at a team level and improved productivity."
"Bot Insights is neatly integrated into the platform, which enables us to develop rapidly and train the learning instances using pre-defined domains over the purchase orders, forms, and invoices that need to be processed."
"The product has improved our organization cost-wise and bank savings in transactions. Everything has been changed for the better."
"The scalability of Automation Anywhere, the framework, and user interface are particularly impressive."
"In terms of approximate time savings, traditionally processing an invoice took twenty minutes, but with all of this—not just Document Automation, but with all the other features—we are able to cut it down to less than five minutes, achieving almost a seventy-five to eighty percent efficiency gain."
"We have automated that complete process of code review. The bot is solving the problem of ensuring the compliance of reviewing code. People use to generally skip the code review process, because it was exhaustive. Bots can review the complete standards of the code, whatever is there, ensuring the compliance and eventually saving time."
"It is easy to use and very stable. It is a rugged product, and it doesn't break so easily."
"The product has increased efficiency and reduced the time spent on tasks."
"The most valuable features I have found to be the screen scraping and the integration with third-party solutions."
"The scalability is the solution's most valuable aspect."
"The solution has been very user-friendly."
"Automation Anywhere is a very good solution if you're looking to expand all your work areas."
"The dashboards are quite good, especially on the latest versions."
"Productivity increased far more than thirty percent."
"I like the interface; it makes managing automation easy. We can set different schedules and templates for each task."
"The key benefit of Fortra's Automate is that it is quite effective with the automation of repetitive IT and business workflows, which is the primary use case we feel is perfect for Fortra's Automate, and it significantly reduces manual intervention."
"The solution saves us a lot of time; we use it hourly for repetitive tasks dealing with 14,000 files, and Automate handles that well."
"The best features of the solution are the flexible automation features, it is rich with beautiful connectors, and it is easy to use with little to no coding knowledge required to get started, so anybody can use the tool."
"I can say it's a very good product, it has very good results and it is well suited for my requirements, and everything more or less I've been able to create in line with what the client requires."
"The most valuable feature is the drag-and-drop interface, which is very Windows-like."
"Overall, this is a pretty nice product and I really recommend it because it is very easy to use."
"Overall, the whole product is really nice and provides significant benefits."

Cons

"The initial setup was complex because we had to make sure all the security aspects were approved by our leadership."
"They will need much more support, because it is a new thing and it’ll never fail because of productive partners. It will fail if people on the “gemba” don’t adopt it."
"An additional feature we would like to see is the inclusion of a particular kind of scripting in the development environment itself."
"I would suggest adding more fields while calling in API. There is no option to generate Authentication token within the Bot."
"MetaBots and Control Room may have some room for improvement."
"There should be more available Data Analytics and more AI Front and Deep Learn concepts."
"The customer service could be improved."
"Automation Anywhere has a lot of room for improvement. It is not customer-friendly."
"The solution doesn't have support like they used to. They need support. We have personnel of our own, but sometimes we need assistance beyond our own team."
"Scalability is an area of improvement. We can increase the main features for our project but when we reached out to our personnel and asked whether Bot can be expanded, we were told "You cannot scale this Bot."
"I have called customer service three times and the experience has not been good. They do not offer 24/7 support, which forces us to wait till the next working day to solve a problem."
"The CL command poses an issue during the process of data conversion, accuracy, data loss and the assessment of certain data as false."
"It would be ideal if the solution offered more language options, such as Arabic."
"I would like to have access to self-service support."
"The deployment could be made a little bit easier."
"Its UI could be made better. It should also be more flexible. Currently, it is more rigid, and a little more flexibility is required. Their technical support should also be better. We are not very happy with their technical support. Its price is also quite high as of now. They should improve its price. Its setup should also be made easier. It is quite complex to set it up. Even though we were able to set it up a little fast because we had done something similar earlier, but it has a very complex setup. It is extremely resource-hungry. If they can make it a little light on resources, that would also be useful."
"The user interface could be slightly enhanced to make it more modern."
"We really need a free development environment for customers. Building and testing automation on production isn't ideal."
"Areas that have room for improvement in Fortra's Automate include that advanced transformations sometimes require custom scripts, as the pure no-code option is limited."
"The licensing cost is high, as per my perspective, in the automation with Fortra's Automate."
"The intelligent automation feature could be improved. It's interesting because it's simple, but the automation quality isn't always good. It's easy to use, but sometimes you need to make a slight improvement to the automation, and that's not so easy."
"I have encountered challenges with error handling and alerting, as some jobs fail and require retries."
"Regarding customer support, I face challenges sometimes. They're not always available, and you may need to wait for assistance, but overall their support is acceptable."
"Each RPA product is not mature enough."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We are a partner of Automation Anywhere and find the pricing to be reasonable."
"The licensing cost is approximately $4,000 USD, which is a seed license."
"We were paying approximately $30,000 for a year license."
"Time-wise: We have saved hundreds of thousands of hours."
"The cost is at the highest end of the spectrum."
"The setup cost depends on multiple factors, so you need to get details before choosing."
"Our annual licensing costs are around $100,000 a year."
"Yearly, our licensing costs are about $90,000 to $100,000. There will be additional licensing costs when we add more Bot Runners to our infrastructure."
"It is too expensive and not worth the price."
"Pricing for this solution can be better."
"The license of this solution is on an annual basis. The price is fair. However, what we did initially was a POC, but now we are looking at moving from a POC to expanding it out further. I would appreciate some kind of discount."
"Our licensing costs are approximately $3,000 USD annually."
"The product is slightly expensive"
"I am very happy with the pricing."
"We are on an annual license for the solution and is priced well."
"We pay approximately $15,000 USD per year."
"I like the way this solution is priced because you can buy a license, or you can buy the software outright."
"Once you buy the software, you just pay for the support for backend help."
"Compared to other products, the pricing model for this solution is much more convenient, flexible, and adaptable to the Portuguese reality."
"From a distributor's side, one of the biggest selling points is its price point. Without going into any numbers, compared to UiPath, Automation Anywhere, and Blue Prism, we're significantly cheaper. The main difference is that other competitors usually charge you per process. However, in Automate's case, it's priced per bot. So, a bot can run multiple processes at the same time, but you are only priced for a single bot."
"It comes with a package that costs approximately $20,000 USD per year."
"While solutions like UiPath and Blue Prism cost around $11,000-$12,000 for each license, this product costs around $7,000 and you can keep it forever."
"I believe the price falls within a reasonable range, which significantly influenced our decision regarding the product. This aspect is crucial for any technological solution, especially in our country where enterprises might be hesitant to invest heavily in something untested or uncertain about its practicality and potential returns."
"It has gone up in price. The price of Fortra's Automate has increased since we first started using it. It does a lot but also costs a lot. It was a lot more affordable before Fortra owned the software."
