Accurate 3D heart mapping has reduced radiation and enables safer ablation procedures
At the moment, CARTO is performing really well, but in certain points such as AF ablation, they can improve the ablation point for scar VT base to reduce the time. The technology is absolutely fine. From a support point of view, the company can improve because at the moment, there are few technicians around the world who can assist the doctor in terms of the physiologist. They can provide more training and train more people to use CARTO, in terms of doctors and physiologists. There is a need for improvement. No one is perfect. They are nearly perfect but not 100%. There are still some things they have to improve in terms of the catheter. If they work on the catheter, they can reduce the time of special VT ablation, scar VT, and AF ablation.

Centralized dashboards have transformed workforce trend analysis and speed up decisions
Tableau Enterprise helps us to consolidate the data and visualize daily and weekly trends in a clear and centralized dashboard, offering powerful features such as interactive dashboards, real-time data refreshing, advanced visual analytics, role-based access control, secure data, and seamless interaction with multiple data sources and automated reports. This will help us to analyze trends and collaborate across teams and scale analytics across the organization. These features help my team specifically by centralizing all employees' data in one place. This helps us reduce manual tracking and gives us real-time visibility into work from home versus office trends. The interactive dashboards allow quick decision-making, and the automated refresh time saves us a lot, while role-based access ensures data is shared securely with the right stakeholders. Tableau Enterprise has had a strong positive impact on our organization by improving data visibility, speeding up decision-making, and managing reports efficiently. The team can now access and track trends more effectively, and collaboration has improved using interactive dashboards. Overall, it has enhanced effectiveness and fostered a data-driven culture across the organization. The specific outcomes showing this positive impact include speeding up decision-making, which is the biggest impact because it saves us more time. Reporting time actually reduces sequentially since the dashboards refresh automatically. Data security is stronger, and data accuracy has improved, thanks to a centralized data source. Decision-making is also much faster since leaders can view real-time impacts instead of waiting for manual entry.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I believe that CARTO helps with the efficiency of the procedures and also with the decision of the ablation strategy in a more assertive way."
"CARTO is really useful, and I appreciate the detailed example shared."
"Evidence-based, CARTO ablations are much better at the moment and have more evidence-based backup in terms of treatment."
"We know CARTO is the best, so that is why we chose CARTO."
"From my experience, the best feature for CARTO is how easy it is to create interactive maps."
"From the organization perspective for whom we were doing this project, CARTO saved them a lot of hassle and tons of money because the information we provided based on maybe a twenty to thirty day research using the software would have required at least six to eight months of the same amount of research."
"CARTO has impacted my lab overall by allowing for short procedure times, no use of fluoroscopy, and successful outcomes in all cases with CARTO."
"CARTO is a system that is really nice to use and very accurate with very high density, providing everything needed inside the procedure."
"The ability to connect multiple data sources, build data extracts, and display said data in an automated, graphical format is the key driving factor ensuring I continue using Tableau."
"Tableau has provided the organisation a means to allow business people to explore their data at their pace."
"The customer service and support for Tableau in Thailand are excellent."
"The solution offers very good reporting."
"Data Interpreter: Which can identify issues or potential errors with your imported data."
"Tableau is highly scalable. Now that they've introduced Hyper, you can create an extract of more than 5 million rows in minutes and then do your analysis."
"Our decision-making process has been streamlined."
"I like the data flow and the ability to easily manage the data."

Cons

"Regarding CARTO's AI capabilities, I trust it, but not at one hundred percent because I do not know all the third parties around the data, and I wish to know more about it."
"It would be beneficial if the patches of CARTO were not as susceptible to breakage, as the connections get broken frequently when we put them on the patient and take them off."
"However, the shape of the current catheter is not really useful for isolating the veins."
"One major aspect we found as a hindrance was the pricing; it felt too expensive for us."
"As a new user, I found that some of the more advanced geospatial analysis features have a bit of a learning curve."
"I chose eight out of ten for CARTO because it would make it a ten for me if the treatment duration can compete with the time duration of PFA."
"From a support point of view, the company can improve because at the moment, there are few technicians around the world who can assist the doctor in terms of the physiologist."
"Regarding CARTO's AI capabilities, I think the accuracy and reliability of output could be improved because I experienced latency, where simple queries took five or six minutes to process or sometimes the API became unresponsive."
"When you create new fields in Tableau and you enter the formulas, there is a new small window that is there in the interface. You can enter the calculated fields, it could be more user-friendly. At this time it is limited and hard to understand at the beginning. The fields should be easier to use, such as in Microsoft Excel. You can have a difficult time understanding what to do in the fields, you end up doing trial and error to figure it out."
"Licensing can be expensive, so it’s best to determine scope and implementation plan."
"The use of this service in the desktop version is annoying due to the constant updates which lead to reinstalling the application. If they could give support with updates on the same downloaded version, it would be great."
"The solution does have scalability issues. When the data size increases, the product slows down and doesn't work right."
"We only use it for the financial side of the company; we don't use it on other projects, for example, the production side or the IT of the company, so we have a lack of users and we don't have a whole view of the business."
"There are more than a powerful tool in the market, such as Microsoft BI."
"It should have more integration with different tools and technologies. Its licensing cost should also be improved."
"I have used Power BI as well as Tableau. There are a couple of interesting features that I like in Power BI, but they are not present in Tableau. For example, in Power BI, if I am looking at country-wise population, I can type and ask for the country that has the maximum population, and it will automatically give an answer and address that query. This kind of feature is not there in Tableau. Similarly, in Power BI, for integrating with the latest ML algorithms, we have decision trees and primarily multiple machine learning algorithms. The decision tree essentially visualizes the patterns in the data. We don't have such a feature in Tableau. If Tableau can integrate with the machine learning algorithms and help us to do visualizations, it would be a wonderful combination. Most of the people are going for Tableau primarily for visualization purposes. However, in the data science industry, users want to do model building as well as tell a story. As of now, Tableau is fulfilling the requirements for visualization purposes. If they can bring it up to a level where I can use it for machine learning purposes as well as for visualization, it would be very helpful. Many people who want to do data science don't want to write a code. Tableau is anyway a drag and drop tool, and if they can provide those options as well, it will be a powerful combination."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"One of the biggest drawbacks of Tableau is the price, it is expensive. The price should be reduced."
"The price could be higher for the quality of software, so they revised the pricing in this version, and I agree with the price for top version. The top version costs about $70 per month, and the price is cheap for the quality."
"Its price is higher than Power BI and QlikView. Tableau costs around $70 per user per month, whereas Power BI is around $8 to $9. QlikView is around $30. Tableau has various prices for various models such as Creator, Designer."
"Pricing is not bad. It's competitive."
"Tableau is an expensive solution, though it comes with its advantages."
"The pricing for Tableau is the same as the other products in the market."
"The company chose to purchase a creator license for me, which was $70. With that license, you can also be an administrator. We also have 20-25 extra licenses and they cost around $20-$35 each. Those are for normal users who will be viewing the dashboards. Those are monthly charges."
"The pricing of Tableau should be better to remain competitive in the market, especially when compared to alternatives."
