Email security has blocked sophisticated phishing and now protects inboxes with AI detection
The only challenge with Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) is that it is an API-based solution. In an API-based solution, the major challenge is that it can read email content and Google Drive content. This presents a data privacy challenge, and we had to mitigate it by signing a Data Processing Agreement and other agreements. Because it is not a traditional in-line solution, Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) connects with Google Workspace using API permission and can access email, attachments, sender, recipient information, links, and all metadata is with Check Point. Data storage and everything else is with Check Point, which is the challenge. This solution has a drawback because of API deployment, while other solutions are traditional secure email gateways that are in-line solutions. In those solutions, we need to change the MX record, but with this solution we do not need to change the MX record, which is a pro of API-based deployment. However, there is also a con in that with API solutions, the email is scanned but after delivery in the mailbox.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It is the collaboration between users inside the company. It is a big advantage with Check Point to be able to work together on the same document."
"The main benefit is that hackers can't steal information."
"After analyzing the market, we opted for the CheckPoint SaaS solution to cover all of these needs, which has led to a considerable leap in the company's security."
"The product offers good and easy integration capabilities with other products."
"Check Point Harmony gives us great visibility of the threats we are being exposed to, where they are coming from and what were they targeting, giving visibility of the weak gateways that could lead to an infection or a leakage."
"Check Point's technical support is very good."
"Check Point adds value with east-west protection in the data center."
"After we organized it with the consulting company and set the first rules, after one week the system seemed to have learned the company's pattern, and we managed to achieve a reduction of almost eighty to ninety percent on spam and false emails, which was very good at the time."
"The integration rate is very high in Kaspersky, which is why most of our customers like it."
"The primary use case of this solution is to filter emails and only allow the legitimate ones through."
"We have achieved cost savings of up to thirty percent by using Kaspersky Security for Mail Server."
"The most valuable features are the anti-phishing and anti-spam capabilities."
"The most valuable feature of the solution stems from the fact that it is a highly reliable and dependable solution."
"The most valuable feature is the straightforward setup."
"With both of them working together, we have the perfect solution for mail."
"Kaspersky Security for Mail Server provides protection against email spams and blacklisted emails which are suspicious, making it a good product."

Cons

"I would rate the customer support a four, maximum, because I have had to reach out to them, and it wasn't great. I ended up with a technician that didn't actually know how to resolve the issue and was just doing basic level one troubleshooting, so it was very time-consuming to work with them."
"The cost is a little bit expensive."
"The worst thing that I have faced with Check Point has been their support."
"Maybe Check Point can work on the DLP part."
"Currently, Check Point HEC supports only Microsoft Office 365 and Google Sheets. In today's world, some clients are using old email service provider solutions, so it would be better if HEC also provides support for third-party email service solutions, such as IBM HCL Notes, creating more opportunities."
"I chose nine because I'm not quite sure anything is a ten; I don't really know how to answer that, but the ten leaves room for improvement."
"A phishing simulator would be helpful as a user training module."
"Its guides are not great."
"Encrypted email attachments are not being monitored by this solution, which is an area that they need to work on."
"I have only made contact via email, and it is a little slow. I would give customer service a rating of six or seven. Improving Spanish support would greatly benefit users."
"Kaspersky lacks in the area of customization, so simpler customization options need to be provided to users."
"It would be great if Kaspersky could do what Sophos does for us. However, we love having these two different technologies doing the same thing. Sometimes Sophos has the patch to block a novel threat, but Kaspersky doesn't."
"The stability of Kaspersky Security for Mail Server is okay, not so much of an issue."
"I rated the overall solution a five out of ten. If a user is looking for a low-budget solution with mid-level security without AI features, Kaspersky Security for Mail Server is suitable."
"Sometimes Sophos has the patch to block a novel threat, but Kaspersky doesn't."
"The biggest problem in the solution is related to its license renewal since it is pretty hard in Kaspersky to find out the procedure to renew a license."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing and licensing are always negotiable."
"Check Point is more expensive. That's the honest truth. So far, it's a good value for the money."
"The difference between [Check Point and its competitors] boiled down to money. Price-wise, Check Point was very good, it was very competitive."
"The product is expensive."
"You can get CloudGuard as part of Infinity. When you do the solution through Infinity, it's a per user type of license cost."
"Usually, we pay for the licensing part on a yearly basis and not on a monthly basis. If Check Point's team is providing a good amount of discount, then it is very easy for us to select it since its competitors are also giving the best prices or best discounts."
"The product’s price is very high."
"The pricing is competitive."
"My company makes annual payments towards the licensing costs solution."
"The solution is not expensive."
"Price-wise, I would rate this product a four out of five. It could be a bit cheaper."
"The solution offers one of the best prices possible to its users, making it even better than Barracuda. Kaspersky Security for Mail Server is ten times cheaper than Barracuda."
