Offers contextual prioritization and risk-based remediation of vulnerability
An improvement would be some sort of an integration with any GRC suite. There are a lot of GRC suites available, like Archer, MetricStream, Rsam, Protiviti, for example. So how would a solution like this work if my company has already invested thousands or maybe millions in a GRC solution? Do I still need it and how does it fit into an existing SAP environment? There could be interoperability, having more data sources, integrating Splunk, Qualys, FireEye, Rapid7, Carbon Black. I'm sure all that can be done to an extent, with a little more insight and a little more accuracy on the industry numbers and trends. I'd like the solution to offer any sort of assistance in any way with the remediation part, not just identification of vulnerability risk, and that is second.

Continuous monitoring has improved OT threat detection and now provides faster, accurate alerts
The best features of Tenable Vulnerability Management include vulnerability scanning, asset discovery, continuous monitoring and alerting, and the ability to report through the dashboard. The dashboard is fully customized towards our environment, and we can use that for our advantage. Out of those features, I find myself relying on the vulnerability scanning the most because it identifies known vulnerabilities and gives us the ability to understand if there is any missing configuration or security configuration. It reduces the exposure to cyber attacks and gives us a detailed view of how the OT environment is functioning. Tenable Vulnerability Management features are great, and the reporting and dashboards are easy and customizable for our environment. The reporting tool gives us immediate information or alerts based on the set parameters that we have within the infrastructure. It gives us a threat level as high, medium, or low, and this can help us to identify or determine if there is any known threat within the environment. The governance and security of Tenable Vulnerability Management is within our control, meaning the user has the power or the authority to work with the AI and to allow the AI to work within your environment in terms of what you want. For instance, the OT environment is something that is very sensitive, and you will not want the AI management tool to take over or to do certain actions within the OT environment. Therefore, as a user, you have control over the AI. Tenable Vulnerability Management provides accuracy and reliable output because it is active, it is real, and it gives updated information. The threats are real based on the alerts that we get, and after reviewing, we are sure that what we see is within our environment and it is accurate.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The risk context of any vulnerability is a valuable feature; that is what it is used for and then data from different sources can be fed into it, and they have good dashboards, risk meters, and virtualization."
"The risk context of any vulnerability is a valuable feature."
"Tenable.io Vulnerability Management gives a good ROI in the long run, though it would be better with a pay-as-you-go model."
"The ease of use in terms of scanning assets is valuable."
"The ease of use in terms of scanning assets is valuable, and it has a diverse checklist when it comes to vulnerability databases."
"The vulnerability scanning is the most important aspect of the solution for us."
"The price of Tenable.io Vulnerability Management is reasonable as it is ten times cheaper than other options."
"Tenable.io, in particular, is quite a powerful product; it looks at your traditional environment, which is pretty much anything that is on-premises, and it also goes a step ahead and covers your modern assets, which is anything that is currently sitting in the cloud, so you get complete visibility of your entire environment and tech operation, and the ability to give you visibility across the entire tech surface is one of the biggest advantages that Tenable.io has."
"It has greatly impacted us by providing asset visibility."
"It is very stable, and it is updated periodically by adding new vulnerabilities."

Cons

"An improvement would be some sort of an integration with any GRC suite."
"It's not a user-friendly tool since it has a complicated interface."
"The reporting was never great in Tenable Vulnerability Management, so, in my company, we imported all the data into Ivanti RiskSense to start using it for reporting."
"The solution is a bit slow."
"The solution seems to focus too much on enterprises, and they really need a product that works for SMBs."
"My rating for customer service is three."
"Another area of improvement is customer service and support. Tenable needs to include support in the pricing/license. Currently, they push clients to get support from partners or channel distributors, who often charge a lot."
"I don't recommend Tenable.io Vulnerability Management for web scanning"
"They need to have more dependable and faster support."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I think the pricing is based on the number of endpoints, so it's more subscription-based."
"There are additional features that can be licensed for an additional cost."
"On a scale of one to ten, where one is low, and ten is high price, I rate the pricing an eight. So, it is a pretty expensive solution."
"The tool is reasonably priced."
"Tenable charges around $40 per device."
"Tenable.io is not known for being a cheap product."
"I would rate the pricing a five out of ten. It is in the middle."

"A yearly payment has to be made toward the solution's licensing costs."
