Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Quite good back-end architecture for end users but the API is very, very bad
Our company uses the solution for system, program, service request, change, and knowledge-based management.  We perform CMD authorizations and use a lot of integrations for our in-house or third-party applications. We also use Salesforce automations and Microsoft orchestrations.  We have about…

Codeless with no customization required and excellent pricing
We have just displaced a ServiceNow installation, which is a major win. We have become partners with Halo and reduced our partnerships with other enterprise ITSM providers. We've actually become partners with Halo, and we've got rid of our partnership with Ivanti ITSM. It's a real market changer, for sure.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The best features are the ease of use, the short learning curve, and the good support from our local partner."
"Automation Anywhere lets us do that, as users can develop the bots by themselves."
"RPA implementation will be always fruitful, and return on investment will be always higher than the input costs."
"Efficiency is something that has increased a lot. Productivity has increased a lot too."
"We saw a 70 percent decrease in manual steps. If something took 10 steps to do, we are doing it in three steps today."
"During the digital transformation of a company, the number of internal portals and applications increases leading to an increased number of data silos."
"Since implementing the solution, the tasks are taking place in a seamless manner. As long as the process is not changed, there is the ease of replicability. Repeatable tasks constantly get done without any challenges."
"V.11 has three different recorders but A2019 Automation Anywhere created an all-in-one recorder called Universal recorder which more reliable to use."
"It has all our configurations. All our infrastructure configurations are on a single pane of glass to view, allowing for one single point of information."
"Great flexibility for every environment and many features are available."
"It has made us a lot more organized, and a lot more aware of what needs to happen."
"Scalability is very good. We have scaled to more users and more functionality."
"This solution has helped align our overall IT and organization strategy because it got rid of shadow systems."
"Automated our manual business processes."
"That has been very good with the decision that we made because we've been able to upgrade the software versions in one month which is amazing."
"Quick capture of ticket info lends itself to easy resolution and/or assignment to other groups."
"The most valuable aspect is that is is codeless."
"The solution's initial setup process was quite straightforward... I rate the technical support a nine and a half out of ten."
"The product’s UI is very good."

Cons

"I would like to leverage the AI component without the requirement to know a coding language, such as Python."
"The schedule queue needs improvement. When one task fails, everything else gets stuck, requiring manual intervention to clear the problematic schedule and trigger the other tasks."
"Operationally, there's room for improvement, especially in the area of high-availability and deployment."
"The UI could be made better because the UI in Version 11 was better and easier as compared to a2019."
"We have had some difficulty with ease of use. In addition, we have had some difficulties getting it to interact in predictable ways with our in-house software."
"Automation Anywhere is headed in the right direction but they still have a good way to go."
"Automation Anywhere should implement this feature. They should also decrease their cost."
"A2019 should have more improvement for developers, as it was in v11.x."
"We would like to see them revamp, or rework, a lot of their configuration management database structures. We hear that is on the horizon."
"We would like to see them integrate more of a service catalog, which is more of an Amazon-type fill in your bucket, then sign in, once you decide what you want."
"It doesn't yet have the ability to integrate with other products."
"More user experience in the look and feel of the application. "
"The API is very, very bad so we developed our own."
"They should enhance the service desk manager's service point function to be more customizable."
"The thing that gets me is they sell it as a customizable tool, but the more customizations you add to it, the less stable it becomes."
"I’d say it's been OK, not great, but it's determined by the servers."
"There are no improvements needed. There is very little that HALO has not already built that is not on its roadmap."
"The product does not have its own orchestration engine."
"The solution's integration part needs to improve...In the future release of the solution, I expect to see certain changes in the programming of the solution. A customer of the solution should be able to customize it as per their need."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The licensing cost could be improved. It costs a lot. At the very least, the developer licenses and the control panels should be made free to enterprises, and the production environment licensed."
"Licensing for Automation Anywhere (AA) is paid on a yearly basis. Out of all the RPA tools, it has the most value for money, e.g. what you pay is what you get."
"The Automation Anywhere license is affordable and not complex."
"The licensing needs to be made simpler or shortened."
"The pricing and licensing are definitely moderate to costly but easily recoverable by achieving ROI quickly."
"Automation Anywhere is expensive, making it suitable only for enterprise organizations."
"Approximately, for a developer, it is around $750 for a license a year. For Bot Runners, it is about $550."
"The licensing cost is approximately $4,000 USD, which is a seed license."
"Pricing is simple, as it’s per concurrent analysts."
"I don't see anyone other than large companies being able to afford this system."
"There is a subscripted needed to use Clarity SM. The price of the solution could be less expensive. ServiceNow is less expensive and BMC Helix is priced similar to Clarity SM."
"I think pricing of this model is suitable for growing corporations."
"The solution is quite reasonable compared to other solutions in the market."
"Clarity offers a perpetual license. Customers purchase the license once and then pay for maintenance. CA provides a subscription model as well. Both models are available for our customers."
"It is a bit expensive, but you definitely get what you pay for. It is worth it!"
"The pricing is based on a subscription model."
"The solution's pricing model is good. Also, they still follow the old concurrent licensing method."
"The product’s pricing is competitive and less complicated."
"It's $69 per user per month. Only administrators need a license, and there is no limit to the number of endpoints."
