Secures the business for customers quickly and accurately
It secures the business for the customers. For instance, if any phishing emails come into the environment and employees see it, we direct the email to Triage. The Triage system will investigate it through AI technology to see if it's a phishing email or not. If it is a phishing email, it will quarantine it and erase it from the environment.

If you had asked me a few weeks ago, I would have said the user interface needed improvement, but we've just updated it. It looks really modern now, and it's a lot easier to use. At the moment, I don't have anything specific for improvement. Additionally, I would suggest different roles for users. We want the ability to lock down certain functions for certain user roles to prevent accidental changes, such as an apprentice accidentally deleting a customer.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It secures the business for the customers."
"For instance, if any phishing emails come into the environment and employees see it, we direct the email to Triage. The Triage system will investigate it through AI technology to see if it's a phishing email or not. If it is a phishing email, it will quarantine it and erase it from the environment."
"Within a week of implementing SpamTitan, it blocked a ransomware event."
"It filters some of the spam."
"Overall, it is doing exactly what it says on the box, which is exactly what we wanted it to do in terms of separating out stuff."
"Frankly, it has been an extremely good solution for us as an organization."
"It works as it should. It allows users to manage emails that they receive, meaning they can set up whitelists and blacklists."
"If it can stop all the garbage from getting through, then it is definitely a time saver. It is more protecting our employees than anything. We just want to make sure that we can do everything that we can do to try and prevent people from clicking on bad stuff or having to deal with bad stuff. It is easier to prevent it from coming into the network."
"I like the notifications SpamTitan sends. Other products require the user to log into the system to see if something was blocked. SpamTitan sends users an email showing them any potential spam that was blocked and they can click on it to release it. It's much easier for the end-user."
"The granularity of the setup is most valuable; it has all the features we need from global settings to per-user settings, which makes it possible to really fine tune the spam filter and we are pretty happy with it."

Cons

"If they continue improving and enhancing this solution, it could be even faster and more accurate."
"The documentation for how to configure it could be better. Sometimes, it was confusing. When we were onboarding with them, the documentation was a little bit vague on how to configure the DNS server and our email server."
"The user interface is good, but it could use some improvement. There's a little bit of an issue where a certain feature is not in an intuitive spot and coexisting with another feature that has similar functionality... The UI is a little dated-looking as well."
"False positives may be an area for improvement. It's very rare that we see false negatives, but false positives might be an area where I, myself, could put some more effort into looking at the settings... Perhaps that's something in the user interface that isn't hugely clear."
"SpamTitan doesn't quarantine when it blocks things based on the remote block list or greylisting. It just deletes the email. When I try to look at these blocked items, it tells me they're gone. RBL or greylisted items aren't saved, so you can check them. There may be a setting somewhere that I haven't seen."
"SpamTitan's logging features could be improved. The logs are hard to deal with because you need to download the log as a text file. Then you need to search through this text file to find what you need."
"The support hours are tough for U.S.-based companies like ours, because they're in Europe."
"Its GUI can definitely be improved. As the administrator of the product, the GUI isn't very logically built."
"We're so used to it now. If anything, there should be more ease of access for the users. If you're on our mail server, there should be easier access for you to better manage your own mailbox."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"As a small business, every penny is counted here... I really thought that something like SpamTitan would be more expensive, but it cost me about $70 (or about £60) a month. I'm more than happy to pay that."
"We're happy with their licensing model. It was a major factor in why we chose them."
"The price and the licensing are fair, allowing us to make a margin on the product. We paid a one-time fee for the sandboxing feature; apart from that, it's just the standard licensing."
"The approximate cost is around $7000 USD."
"The price was great compared to other solutions that we looked at the time."
"SpamTitan has competitive pricing and flexible licensing. They allow up to 10% more that you use and then add it to the next tier of licenses."
"I don't deal with pricing. In terms of licensing, the last I heard was that the licensing for users in SpamTitan isn't fully functioning because of some integration issues with Microsoft. I know we have more than 20% on our licensing at the moment, but the way the licensing is supposed to run makes a lot of sense for us. We are looking forward to that part getting implemented correctly."
"One user is the same price as 50 users and there isn't a discount until you get to about 500 users. From a small business point of view—we're 30 people—there should be a price break before you have 500 people. Small businesses don't have a lot of money."
