Gained full visibility and streamlined threat detection through behavior-based insights and AI integration
Initially, we got to have a lot of false positives when we onboarded, but nowadays it's quite smooth. We have fine-tuned our security policies and allowed different levels of policies to get rid of those false positives. Currently, we are getting a fairly good amount of incidents that are not false positives or benign, but actionable items. The process is streamlined. In the initial days, the operations used to get involved in a lot of benign and other activities, but now the process is streamlined. We are leveraging the auto-detection and remediation plans. The operations teams are now more involved in other business roles as well, not just looking into the logs and fetching out what's happening there. They have fixed a lot of things. Initially, they didn't have IAC code drift detection, cloud posture management, or security posture management, but they have those now. They purchased different vendors and did a merger with that. They have now Prisma Cloud that gets integrated and now they are working with Cortex Cloud. Everything that was negative has now been addressed, and the product altogether looks to be in a very better and mature shape now. Currently, it's more or less detecting the workloads with AI-based best practices. Since most organizations are consuming AI agents and other things, we are looking forward to seeing what other feature enhancements Palo Alto can support in that.

Effective risk response, easy deployment, and enhanced security
They use Datto EDR as part of the solutions that we supply Datto EDR has helped reduce overall security incident costs by fifteen percent. The ease of deployment has been good, and the responsiveness of the application to risks has been quite effective. The inclusion of web filtering would be…

Strong endpoint protection has simplified compliance and reduced effort for large user environments
One of the best features of Trellix Endpoint Security Platform is its endpoint security, and I have been using it for the last four and a half to five years, so I can say this is one of the best EDR endpoint security solutions I have ever seen. The features that make Trellix Endpoint Security Platform stand out for me are ease of use and analytics, which I really appreciate the most. Trellix Endpoint Security Platform positively impacts my organization, ensuring we are compliant with SOC 2, HIPAA, and all other compliance requirements, so there are no issues with that.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The behavior-based detection feature is valuable."
"After installing this solution, it identified, blocked, and provided the complete attack chain, which was very helpful."
"I recommend this solution to others because it is easy to manage, reliable, and overall good to use."
"Cortex XDR lets us manage several clients from the same console, and its endpoint defense is more advanced than traditional antivirus."
"On a scale from one to ten, I would rate Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks a nine."
"My advice for others looking into using Cortex is that it is very easy to use and very useful for the customer environment, whether it's a public or private one."
"Its interface and pricing are most valuable, and it is better than other vendors in terms of security."
"We can use Cortex XDR to get the entire graph of the incidents from source to destination, and we can take remedial action."
"The ease of deployment has been good."
"The most valuable feature of Datto EDR is the visibility of the endpoints."
"Datto Endpoint Detection and Response is a perfect product for endpoint security."
"The insight that the solution provides is the most valuable aspect. The security scanning they do is excellent."
"At the same time, McAfee's deployment was seamless."
"Trellix Endpoint Security has a full suite of DLP."
"I feel McAfee Endpoint Security is a good, mature product, although the price of the technology poses an issue."
"The solution provides dashboard control, so we can centrally monitor the entire status of our organization."
"I would definitely recommend McAfee MVISION Endpoint because it is cloud-based app management and requires little maintenance."
"We have a cloud-based instance, so we can deploy all our configurations through the cloud. That's the beauty of FireEye."
"FireEye Endpoint Security's scalability is awesome. I think it is one of the best on that front."
"It is a great solution overall."

Cons

"If they had pulse rate detection, it would be better."
"If Palo Alto reduces the pricing slightly for their products, it would make them more scalable in markets such as India and globally for cybersecurity."
"Cortex XDR could be improved with more GUI features."
"As an improvement, I would like to see enhanced connection speeds."
"The solution should add unwanted malicious hash values to a block list so that whenever the action is triggered, it will automatically prevent the malicious content."
"The connection to the internet has not performed as expected."
"Cortex does not offer an on-premises solution. However, some customers would prefer not to be on the cloud. It would be ideal if it could offer something on-prem as well."
"This product has not improved my organization - in fact, we are in the process of moving back to another product as a result of Cortex's horrible impact on system performance."
"The inclusion of web filtering would be good."
"The solution could improve by having more deployment methods."
"The deployment of the solution right now is terrible. We find it to be very bad. It could be improved enormously."
"The solution should allow the automation of playbooks."
"We don't have very good local technical support."
"An area of improvement for this solution is to make it easier to manage."
"The detection and response capabilities need to be improved."
"Regarding how Trellix Endpoint Security Platform can be improved, I find that intuitive problem solving is not very easy with Trellix Endpoint Security Platform, leading to the need to consistently reach out to the help desk, and it would be quite helpful if things were more intuitive and first-line problem solving was made easier."
"It is a very heavy tool, unfortunately."
"The Linux support is very poor. I use base detection. Currently, they are providing malware protection and logon track features in Windows and Mac. These features aren't available in Linux. It will be helpful to extend these capabilities to Linux. We would also like assets grouping and device lock protection features, which are included in their roadmap."
"The complexity of advanced modules can be improved."
"While I cannot recall anything specific at the moment, there are many areas of the solution that I wish to see improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The return on investment is from the user side because we have seen the performance of it increase the delivery time of the product if we are using too many web-based and on-premise applications. In indirect ways, we saw the return of investment in terms of performance and user satisfaction increase."
"It's about $55 per license on a yearly basis."
"The price of the solution could be reduced. I have customers that have voiced that the solution is good for the value but if I want to sell more of the solution the price reduction would help."
"It has a yearly renewal."
"The price of the solution is high for the license and in general."
"We didn't have to pay any additional fee for the cloud instance. It just came with the renewal, which was nice."
"Our customers have expressed that the price is high."
"If one wishes to work with another team or large number of users at a future point, he must purchase a license for them."
"There is an annual license to use this solution. The price of the solution can be expensive depending on the company."
"Datto Endpoint Detection and Response is not an expensive solution."
"Licensing fees are paid yearly."
"It's fairly priced compared to other products on the market."
"Microsoft Defender is not cheap and from a cost perspective, Trellix Endpoint Security (ENS) is a better option."
"Customers would need to purchase a license. If a customer purchases an MVISION Endpoint license, he may use that license to install ENS. It's a flexible license where you have the option to either use the McAfee security software or the Windows Defender managed by McAfee, which is MVISION Endpoint."
"The pricing is great and licensing fees are billed on a yearly basis."
"I don't think there are any extra expenses besides its licensing costs."
"We pay 650 Rand for a license. It is a perpetual license which we normally run for two years."
"I am happy with the pricing."
