Agile planning has improved daily coordination but reporting and dashboards still need more flexibility
I would like to see more advanced reporting and analytics customization. The existing dashboards are useful for tracking velocity, backlog, and delivery, but deeper real-time insights would improve decision-making. I would also like simpler integrations and more flexibility, especially across large teams and complex projects. Another improvement I would like is more flexible reporting and dashboard customization, especially for creating organization-specific metrics. More intuitive visualizations would also help. Digital.ai Agility can be improved mainly by making reporting and dashboard customization more flexible and intuitive. I would also like simpler integrations with third-party tools and easier configurations of automated workflows. Better dependency visualizations and real-time alerts for delivery risk would help large teams identify blockers earlier. The user interface could also be simplified to make it easier for new users. Overall, these improvements would make day-to-day planning, reporting, and cross-team coordination more efficient. There are a few areas where improvements are needed. I would like to see further improvements in user experience and navigation, especially making commonly used features easier to access for new users. More intuitive dashboard customization, better dependency visualization, and simpler third-party integrations would also help.

Has provided mature traceability and configuration features while supporting complex product development for mid-to-large companies
Polarion ALM can learn from Atlassian tools a lot, as the usability is not the best, and it is really narrowly focused on requirements management only. For example, if you want to do testing and test result management with it, it is very limited. Jama Connect has similar limitations, and both should really focus on developing the integrations and extendability. For example, Jama Connect does not even have an extension marketplace, whereas Polarion has a small one. However, compared to the Atlassian Marketplace where you can get whatever applications for whatever price, it is a totally different ballgame. I would highly recommend Polarion ALM add more AI features to it. I know they have started to do something, but for example, I have been developing widgets for IBM DOORS Next, AI widgets, so that you can write and analyze requirements with the AI, and I have also done the same for Jira, creating a couple of Jira applications in the marketplace as well.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It can generate reports showing a burndown chart, burnup chart, and the planned vs actual velocity."
"Agility is highly flexible. It can do much more than what our client is doing with it. They use it in a defined way. Some at that company have a much broader knowledge of agile and SAFe, but they're given applications and a mandated way to work. We had to work within their parameters and provide an accurate transition so the data would be mapped and pushed through."
"It allows my clients to have one central tool to manage their agile projects."
"Digital.ai Agility helped our organization define the Enterprise Value Streams, and in the tool you can derive all user stories, features, and epics from the top-level portfolio items and value streams so any work that is done must contribute to the value streams, otherwise it should be questioned why that effort is being executed."
"I prefer Agility out of the three applications we work with because it has the most flexibility and can work at a higher level."
"You can use Digital.ai Agility for automating your tasks and creating your dashboard."
"VersionOne delivers a total ALM solution for whether you are operating a single team, like Scrum and Kanban for IT operations, or implementing an agile enterprise approach, like SAFe."
"Overall, the biggest benefits have been better delivery visibility, improved planning, faster decision-making, and reduced administrative effort."
"The tool's most valuable feature is its browser experience. I rate its traceability feature a ten out of ten. From the initial stage to the release, you can manage everything through a single point."
"The solution offers good integration."
"Polarion ALM's integration is very good and easy to use."
"Scalability is good...The integration is quite good."
"It is a very stable solution."
"The software is stable."
"The initial setup of this solution was straightforward, and there were not too many problems with it."
"There are similar solutions out there such as Jira and Confluence, but they are not as good."

Cons

"It was not supporting some plugins. We wanted to migrate data that we were already using."
"The user interface could also be simplified to make it easier for new users."
"Improve how to create and track releases. Currently, I have to create child projects."
"The user interface can be improved by adding Save, Edit, Add, Cancel, and Return buttons to the popup windows that are displayed when you click on a child item."
"The machine learning features are a new capability but could be improved. This is being worked by Digital.ai currently. Multicolor simulation, specifically, could be improved."
"In my work as a contractor, it's always frustrating when a client has multiple software applications that don't talk to each other and they all perform the same function. That presents a huge challenge between their IT groups."
"The response from Digital.ai Agility is a little bit slow and could be faster."
"There is room for improvement in getting the analytics portion of the solution more integrated with the rest of it."
"Test management lacks an automated process."
"The interface for this solution needs to be made more user-friendly to provide a better user experience."
"I don't think that this solution scales well. It means that we have to split our project and use something with fewer objects in it."
"The solution is not easy to use. The configuration aspect of the solution is not easy."
"We use PTC Windchill, and Polarion ALM doesn't have native integration, so we had to purchase the connector to integrate it with Polarion ALM. We still haven't implemented it."
"The configuration aspect of the solution is not easy. A person needs a lot of programming knowledge in order to successfully handle the job."
"The most important thing for them to improve should be platform-independent features. They should also provide extensive pipelines and release pipelines that we can define and we can work on."
"The license model is okay for large companies but would be quite expensive for smaller enterprises."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"You get what you pay for. Don't let your development teams dictate what the portfolio management team should use as the main tool."
"Comparing the pricing to other products, I think this solution is in the middle."
"Software for medical devices is always expensive."
"Our license for Polarion ALM is yearly. And it's not the cheapest tool that we've looked at. So if we had made our decision purely based on the licensing cost, we wouldn't have selected Polarion."
"The license model is okay for large companies but would be quite expensive for smaller enterprises."
"If the pricing would come down and it was more affordable then we wouldn't have to switch."
"The solution is expensive."
"It is an expensive product."
"You have to pay around 50-60 euros per user."
