Exceptionally easy to integrate and covers a multitude of cybersecurity issues
The solution's interface appears very simple, but it is very complicated in the back end. So, it removes all the complications that an MSP or an MSSP would normally have. The solution's maintenance depends on whether you run it like an MDR platform where you provide the detection response part for the customer. That would normally be the MSP part. Sometimes, you have customers who are just happy to get an email and tell them what the problem is, and they fix it themselves. If there's no in-house expertise, the MSP or the MSSP can do the maintenance. If there's in-house expertise, it's just a matter of advising them. Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.

Soc Analyst at a manufacturing company with 10,001+ employees
Improved identity threat visibility has enabled faster investigations and structured triage
Huntress Managed ITDR could be improved by providing more detailed alert context, clearer investigation steps, and better integration with SIEM and SOAR tools. Reducing false positives and offering more customization for alert severity would also help SOC analysts prioritize genuine threats and investigate them more efficiently. I would also like to see more detailed incident timelines, better alert correlation, and more flexible reporting options. These improvements would help our SOC analysts understand the full context of identity-related threats, reduce manual investigation efforts, and make it easier to track security trends over time. I think Huntress Managed ITDR's AI governance and security could be improved by providing more transparency into how AI-driven detections work, how customer data is protected, and how decisions are made. Clear documentation on data privacy, access controls, and human oversight would help build trust and ensure AI-assisted threat detection remains secure and reliable. I find the AI capabilities useful for identifying suspicious identity activities and supporting investigations. However, accuracy and reliability depend on the quality of the alerts and available context. I would like to see fewer false positives, more transparent explanations for detections, and consistent results to help our SOC analysts make informed decisions.

Pros

"The solution is exceptionally easy to integrate and covers a multitude of cybersecurity issues."
"Overall, it's something that each organization or company should look at investing in, and it's a great tool to have."
"The best features Huntress Managed ITDR offers include the flexibility of isolating machines and creating rules surrounding those events."
"My advice for others looking into using Huntress Managed ITDR would be to definitely give a trial, try them out, see how your customers appreciate it, and I bet that they will love it."
"One feature I appreciate the most about Huntress Managed ITDR is its integration with Microsoft Defender, because most users in our organization have Microsoft Business Premium licenses, so Defender for Endpoint comes along with Business Premium, meaning there is no extra cost."
"Having a security analyst review potential threats adds valuable context and helps reduce the risk of missed identity-based attacks."
"Implementing Huntress Managed ITDR has improved our business by allowing us to be more proactive with our security posture."
"Huntress Managed ITDR has helped me detect identity threats extremely effectively; Compromised accounts are managed extremely well because we often get sign-ins from unknown locations faster than a client is aware their account is compromised."
"The maintenance for Huntress Managed ITDR requires no maintenance on my end; it is self-reliant in that once it is set up, it does most of the heavy lifting, and you really just have to review alerts as it monitors for any issues."

Cons

"The solution's security awareness training and phishing are very United States-focused and don't work very well in Australia."
"I see improvements to the HaloPSA integration as something that could be better; it would be good to see more information in the ticket raised."
"The only other thing I would say would be better with Huntress Managed ITDR is regarding my work with educational customers where budgets are very tight. I would have preferred to see a pricing model where you pay per domain name rather than per user, because that would make it more cost-effective for schools to get on board with Huntress Managed ITDR."
"If we have a client that only has M365 Business Standard, all of the MFA details just show as unknown."
"Huntress Managed ITDR could improve by cleaning up the dashboard interface."
"Setting up and managing exceptions in Huntress Managed ITDR does come with challenges, primarily because we often fail to document our own processes."
"A downside of Huntress Managed ITDR is that some devices show they are not super compatible with the Defender for Endpoint integration."
"While it is good to have those escalations, one of the downsides is that we receive many escalations, and I believe approximately seven out of ten are false positives."
"The product needs further maturity, with some improvements in the user interface."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I like Guardz's pricing model because it's very cost-effective and has no long-term commitments."

My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing has involved letting the sales team take care of all that, as my focus is only on integration.
What needs improvement with Huntress Managed ITDR?
In ITDR, the area that has room for improvement is the escalations, which are conceptually good. However, we receive many false positives, so I believe this is something that needs to be improved.

Huntress Managed ITDR is used for threat detection and response, similar to EDR but specifically for identity.
