Centralized dashboards have transformed workforce trend analysis and speed up decisions
Tableau Enterprise helps us to consolidate the data and visualize daily and weekly trends in a clear and centralized dashboard, offering powerful features such as interactive dashboards, real-time data refreshing, advanced visual analytics, role-based access control, secure data, and seamless interaction with multiple data sources and automated reports. This will help us to analyze trends and collaborate across teams and scale analytics across the organization. These features help my team specifically by centralizing all employees' data in one place. This helps us reduce manual tracking and gives us real-time visibility into work from home versus office trends. The interactive dashboards allow quick decision-making, and the automated refresh time saves us a lot, while role-based access ensures data is shared securely with the right stakeholders. Tableau Enterprise has had a strong positive impact on our organization by improving data visibility, speeding up decision-making, and managing reports efficiently. The team can now access and track trends more effectively, and collaboration has improved using interactive dashboards. Overall, it has enhanced effectiveness and fostered a data-driven culture across the organization. The specific outcomes showing this positive impact include speeding up decision-making, which is the biggest impact because it saves us more time. Reporting time actually reduces sequentially since the dashboards refresh automatically. Data security is stronger, and data accuracy has improved, thanks to a centralized data source. Decision-making is also much faster since leaders can view real-time impacts instead of waiting for manual entry.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Holistics Data Software is easy to use, and the price is suitable for my company."
"The ability to quickly connect to all of our datasources, whether its a Oracle or MySQL database, and excel sheet of a csv file and produce a rich interactive visualisation that can then be shared amongst everyone on site is fantastic."
"It's very user-friendly; it's not like Power BI, Tableau is very user-friendly, anybody can use Tableau, it's very easy to adopt things, I can visualize the stats, it's one of the fastest-growing data visualization and data analytics tools, and you can simplify and convert raw data into a very understandable format."
"Tableau seems to have easier user acceptance than QlikView because of the simpler charts and big data integration, increasing the possibility of helping an organization transform from reactive analysis to predictive analysis."
"The number one thing was just the ease of getting something up quickly. The other thing that was good about it was that it was fairly fast for decent-sized data sets in terms of performance and run time."
"The ability to create visualizations of data is the product’s most valuable feature to me because it provides a meaningful view of the data and the metrics used by our clients."
"If you want to analyze data, discover insights, communicate your story with data, or impress your customers with great visualizations, Tableau is by far the best tool."
"What Tableau can bring to the table: better visualizations, ease of use (in case the end users are business guys and not technical folks) and advanced analysis capabilities."
"The more robust features include improved geo-encoding, shape content is a big winner, as is cluster analysis, cross-DB joins are helpful as well, and a huge improvement is the ability to render data visualization to any device from phone to PC."

Cons

"The learning curve was quite hard for us to master all the features at the beginning."
"If you mainly need a tool for BI reporting, it's not the best option. Tableau needs better abilities to generate simple reports, integrate, create databases, and work with data lakes."
"Sometimes it crashes because of the huge database."
"Number of out-of-box visualizations can be increased."
"It is complex to deploy if you work in a test environment."
"Tableau is very good as a starting point for a BI system and environment with relatively low cost. But it's not easy to expand to enterprise level because there is no discount pricing strategy."
"I have not yet transitioned to Tableau Desktop 10.0, but I understand version 10.0 has functionality that allow users to perform cluster analysis."
"They need to make it more flexible for enterprise administration, e.g, more job scheduling flexibility, more robust permission control, and more comprehensive mapping service that is native and not dependent on a third party like Mapbox."
"Our local vendor support (in México) was so bad!!!"

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"For big business, Tableau could be expensive as having a lot of Tableau server users (entering with a browser to reports) could be a bit expensive."
"Tableau's licensing is pretty straightforward and simple."
"The pricing is $70 per month. You have to pay about $800 or something in that ballpark annually for one license."
"We are on an annual license which costs us $1,400 which is very expensive. Microsft BI is less expensive."
"One of the biggest drawbacks of Tableau is the price, it is expensive. The price should be reduced."
"The price is definitely a point because smaller firms don't use Tableau as it's an expensive tool."
"Best advice on pricing is to anticipate the desire for more licenses once the results of this product are acknowledged in other parts of your company."
"The value for money is definitely there."
