Have managed daily asset and alert monitoring effectively but have encountered limitations with manual processes and interface usability
It's still very manual and doesn't work on its own. It's still in an early stage and not on par where we can consider it a really successful detection system. The accuracy is not there. The UI could be better when compared to Sentinels where we can use flags and tagging. It could be much more user-friendly. IBM Security QRadar has all features and is fully competitive with other SIEM tools, but when it comes to user-friendliness, a new user takes time to get used to it. More intuitive, user-friendly interfaces and more helpful documentation would be beneficial. The query searching and data fetching could be faster. In large to very large organizations with around 5,000 or 6,000 assets or beyond, even with proper configurations and RAM and hardware backing up, the query is fairly slow.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"IBM Qradar's ability to simplify the number of events, not only on a technical level but by making that information easy to pan through the orchestration deduplication. It is very impressive given that we have hundreds of devices that send event logs through."
"The user interface is really great and it simplifies the task of monitoring your environment."
"It is a very optimized engine."
"QRadar is built around Red Hat Linux, which is highly robust."
"The most valuable features are the AI assistant, which is good at detecting known types of behavior."
"Most of our clients have seen a return on investment because compared to other solutions it does not require a busload of people to operate it and it is reasonably priced."
"It has improved comprehensive visibility for what is going on in the perimeters, and on the inside, as well."
"IBM QRadar Advisor with Watson is a stable solution."
"From what I have seen so far, this is an excellent product."
"The most valuable features of IBM Watson for Cyber Security are ease of use and out-of-the-box reports and compliance policies. Additionally, if there are aspects that are missing IBM add them in the next release."
"The customer support is very good."
"IBM Watson for Cyber Security is very stable."
"The most valuable feature of this product is innovation, where the research and upgrading of technology never ends."

Cons

"The tool is very complicated. One place for improvement would be to have a more user-friendly interface. Having better support in Spanish would be cool."
"The only downfall of this product would be its price."
"The tech support is not that good."
"Improving the integration with IBM Server for MetaMask for correlation rules would be beneficial. Currently, I use Sentinel in Azure, and I would prefer creating one rule to roll it out to both Sentinel and QRadar. However, this is not possible because QRadar lacks this capability."
"There needs to be better integration with other applications."
"From a functionality point of view, there are issues sometimes."
"Before we didn't have any security issues but recently a few of the user emails were hacked. We had to actually recreate their emails for them."
"The only challenge is that IBM has been a closed enterprise. It should be more open to integrating with other providers at an enterprise level. We're a bank and the core banking system integration is not way straightforward and there is no integration between IBM and these products. If IBM could open up and provide a way of integrating it seamlessly, without charging more for it, that would make a big difference."
"The dashboard could improve in IBM Watson for Cyber Security."
"This is an expensive product, so making it more cost-effective would be an improvement."
"In the future, I would like to see threat intelligence included."
"They need to continue to build the AI capabilities."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"There is a license to use this solution, which is paid annually. However, there are subscription options available."
"Pricing is good."
"It's very expensive but it fits our budget."
"There is a license required for this solution and it is an annual payment. I have found all solutions in the category to be expensive, including Splunk."
"Pricing (based on EPS) will be more accurate."
"The price could be better. I bought a subscription for three years."
"In terms of additional costs, it depends on the subscription that you choose. There are plenty of options to choose from."
"QRadar is quite expensive. It wouldn't be worth it for a small business..."
"The price of this solution should be lower, although I understand why IBM charges a premium price."
"IBM Watson for Cyber Security is very simple to license and is priced well."
