Centralized monitoring has improved branch management and simplifies proactive WAN troubleshooting
The best features of Versa Director are centralized device management, SD-WAN policy configuration, real-time WAN and application monitoring, traffic streaming, and centralized troubleshooting, making managing multiple branches much easier from a single platform. The real-time WAN and application monitoring feature helps me monitor WAN link health, latency, packet loss, and application performance, allowing me to quickly identify issues, check which link is affected, and troubleshoot connectivity problems before they impact users on a day-to-day basis. Versa Director has positively impacted my organization by improving centralized management, reducing troubleshooting time, and providing better visibility into WAN and application performance. It has also made managing multiple branch sites more efficient.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"SevOne enables us to look at the data and see that the customer has disconnected so we can stop billing and reimbursing them."
"SevOne has improved my organization by taking us to a single pane of glass for alerting on the network reports."
"The monitoring of the network is very customizable. That is its unique feature."
"It is a very efficient and highly recommended solution."
"Customer Service: Fantastic – responsive."
"The comprehensiveness of this solution's collection of network performance and flow data is one of the basics in the field for what it does. It meets all of our needs. So for all those areas, for the most straightforward collection capabilities, right up to NetFlow and even telemetry, it meets all those demands. Not only just basic or fundamental SNMP collection capability, but the product also supports what we need for the future with telemetry streaming. So it's very comprehensive."
"The bi-directional integration with ServiceNow has saved me a lot of money in man-hours, over the course of the last few years."
"As an IT Manager this tool helps me sleep better knowing that SevOne is my eyes and ears watching the entire infrastructure."
"Versa Director has positively impacted my organization by improving centralized management, reducing troubleshooting time, and providing better visibility into WAN and application performance, and it has also made managing multiple branch sites more efficient."
"Versa Director is the fastest engineering tool and is ideal for use without product management."
"The most valuable feature of Versa Director is analytics."
"Versa Director has easier customer reports, utilization monitoring, graphic shaping monitoring, configuration, template shaping, and deduplication compared to Fortinet and Cisco."
"Versa Director's best feature is the ease of configuration and customer and vendor management."
"Versa Director is a beneficial product for the environment my company has."
"I think the most valuable functionality is some of the policy pieces that are quite useful."

Cons

"This product needs a lot of handholding and close collaboration with network design resources, in terms of choosing the appliance and the number of licenses."
"You need to plan integrations; that has been the biggest bug with SevOne so far."
"Some similar solutions offer end-to-end visibility."
"Every upgrade we've done -- and we've done them all -- have been highly disruptive and extraordinarily difficult."
"I think that the upgrade process could be improved, which can be painful at times."
"The support is excellent, but the features are average."
"The customizations are very hard. The person doing it has to be very good at analytics and has to be very good in all languages"
"We initially had issues getting the product to accommodate the number of network devices to monitor."
"Overall, the features of Versa Director are very useful, but I would appreciate more advanced troubleshooting and reporting capabilities to enhance issue analysis and make it even faster."
"Versa Director's deployment process is not the best."
"It requires some simplification."
"What needs improvement in Versa Director is maturity because, from an operating point of view, it's not mature enough. You'll still need to do a lot of research on Versa Director, so if it could mature faster, that would be very good."
"Versa Director's on-prem SD-WAN hardware and SSL VPN software are not integrated, so you have to buy a separate subscription for the SSL VPN."
"I think the one area that could be improved is that there are a lot of features; that is also an advantage but it makes things a little difficult, so I'd like to see some simplification so that there is less bloat."
"Versa could be more AI-oriented."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Choose a SevOne partner who can provide SevOne as a service and can deliver professional services and maintenance."
"The pricing has been fair."
"It is inexpensive compared to other monitoring tools."
"There are cheaper solutions available."
"Prices per license are not huge, but they exist."
"A blocking point is the high upfront cost because it is challenging to get it accepted and the purchase approved."
"Have a bank of licenses, because it is about the number of objects (RAM, ports, CPU, etc.)."
"There are different options available for licensing, with the per-device option being more expensive but more flexible."
"Having to buy separate licenses for the on-prem SD-WAN hardware and SSL VPN software makes Versa Director very costly compared to other solutions like Fortinet and Cisco."
