A data analysis tool that is scalable and includes keyword search functionality
The solution is used for a government company for data collection and analysis I have found the auto-generated document very useful as well as the main keywords that are highlighted, which are used for the search functionality within IBM Watson Explorer. I have been using the solution for five…

Analytics features have improved our reporting workflows and support data‑driven decisions
The feature is called Oracle R Enterprise, and I have not worked with it. I have not used Oracle Enterprise. I am hearing about it for the first time. We have not used machine learning. We do not work with it for creating any data models from machine learning. My overall rating for this product is 8.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"What impressed me more about Watson is that it is easy to use it, not for the technical people, but for business people."
"We take natural language that was happening in our repositories and our application and then feed it to the Watson APIs. We receive JSON payloads as an API response to get cognitive feedback from the repository data."
"The main use case is FAQ for the user; it works for almost 80% of the use case coverage."
"IBM has been working with Bradesco since 1968, I think, and the support is very good, with a team of 10 IBM employees working every day, 24 hours, inside the bank in Sao Paolo."
"For me, as a user, the most valuable feature is the ability to ingest and then retrieve information from a range of separate sources; the ability to dissect questions in context and actually answer them."
"Implementing the solution really helped with manual labor, it takes care of a lot of FT work."
"Ease of use is pretty good as is the standardization of not actually having to have my own natural learning algorithms, just to use the Watson APIs."
"The valuable feature of Watson Explorer for us is data entities, and being able to see hidden insights from within unstructured data."
"Oracle Advanced Analytics effectively prevents threats and helps maintain a secure network environment."
"One of the valuable features is the ability to pull together multiple sources of information and the tools are easy to use which is the main factor."
"Viewing the data on the Dashboard with charts is a great option this tool provides."
"The dashboard interface is intuitive and the user is able to interact with it to receive good results from the analytic."
"We have used Oracle Data Miner, which has a drag-and-drop interface that creates the workflow and is easy to use to build workflow-based modeling."
"Oracle Data Mining provides a powerful functionality as it enables users to discover new insights hidden in data."
"Easy to use, simple, with a quick learning curve."
"Oracle Advanced Analytics helps us to steer the company, to create centralized reports and dashboards so that we're all using the same information, and we're not relying that much on Excel and different custom reporting solutions."

Cons

"No, it's not yet stable."
"Stability is actually one of the areas that could use improvement. Setting it up is always tough. Setting Explorer requires experts, but also the underlying platform is not that stable. So it really needs a good expert to keep it running."
"The solution is expensive."
"Much of IBM operates this way, where they have sets of tools that are in the middleware space, and it becomes the customer's responsibility or the business partner's responsibility to develop full solutions that take advantage of that middleware. I think IBM's finding itself in that spot with Watson-related technologies as well, where the capabilities to do really interesting and useful things for customers is there, but somebody still has to build it. Is that going to be the customer? Are they going to be willing to take on that responsibility themselves"
"More cognitive feedback would be good. The natural language analysis is great, the sentiment analyzers are great. But I would just like to see more... innovation done with the Watson platform."
"It needs better language support, to include some other languages. Also, they should improve the user interface."
"Small businesses will probably have a little harder time getting into it, just because of the amount of resources that they have available, both financial and time, but it really is a solution that should work for them."
"I think we'll get it to a 10, but I think at the moment it's got to be a good eight or nine out of 10 at least."
"Could use some refinement getting things that are not standard cloud applications, but more customized."
"It is not a really easy product to use, so you have to do a lot of configuration."
"Since a separate Oracle database is needed, the data loading and cleansing the raw data can be a time consuming process."
"From my perspective, there is sometimes room for improvement in advanced analytics, especially if the data is large, then it shows some performance issues."
"I would like to see an improvement in the ease of implementing customized data sources and the like."
"Basic capabilities, less professional than would be expected from a company dealing with databases as a core business."
"One area for product improvement is the user experience, particularly when navigating through screens."
"There are some transactions we have not been able to find through the dashboard."
