Inherited deployment tool has required clunky iPad rollouts but has automated remote updates
I do appreciate the best features that Ivanti Virtual Application Delivery Controller (vADC) offers. One feature that stands out to me as useful is that it applies some application firewall for security, which I found valuable. Ivanti Virtual Application Delivery Controller (vADC) has impacted my organization positively as it is more of a necessity, not just because we do have all of our iPads in Ivanti MDM, but to be able to deploy properly. It certainly does save time and resources compared to doing things manually because 90% of our mobile devices are all remote and in the field, and our endpoint users are technically challenged; therefore, trying to get anyone to update or be able to do anything actually on their iPad outside of using an application would be near impossible.

High availability and strong security have supported our apps but advanced traffic control still improves
LoadBalancer Enterprise can be improved because the layer seven programmability is not as powerful as it could be. We cannot write code and programming on it. Additionally, access management and identity options are not available here like they are in F5 VPN. The WAF depth and analytics, such as in-depth logs and the WAF learning option that we have in other load balancers, are much easier to configure and to harden the policies and polish them. That option is not here. Fine-tuning is a bit difficult compared to other solutions. The automation and API maturity does not appear to be at the level of other load balancers. The main limitation is that there is nothing here with regards to F5 APM. There is no iRules option or policy option to manipulate the traffic according to requirements, which is a bit difficult. If an organization is basic and does not want very advanced features, then it is acceptable. However, if advanced features such as iRules are required, and complete detailed WAF monitoring is desired along with policies that can be learned and then implemented afterwards as you have in F5, then LoadBalancer Enterprise lacks these capabilities.

Pros

"The strict security features of Ivanti Virtual Application Delivery Controller (vADC) stand out for me because essentially, you can have the hashing of all the programs that you can launch, the signature to check, the very deep analysis of the project, and the very deep log that helps you develop and analyze security."
"Ivanti Virtual Application Delivery Controller (vADC) is a very good tool that companies should use, as it is very reliable, very fast, and allows you more time to work on other cases because Ivanti handles everything smoothly."
"Ivanti Virtual Application Delivery Controller (vADC) has impacted my organization positively as it is more of a necessity, not just because we do have all of our iPads in Ivanti MDM, but to be able to deploy properly."
"It helps us to route the traffic to the available servers."
"The most valuable features of Loadbalancer.org are related to its load balancing capabilities."
"Now, we achieve about 99% availability across all servers thanks to the health check feature in the load balancer."
"F5 is a balancer that is one of the first to do this kind of thing, so it's pretty much a Swiss Army knife for managing all the load balancing techniques."
"Their technical support is one of the best experiences that I have ever had."
"Performance-wise with LoadBalancer Enterprise, I haven't seen any issues between on-premises and the cloud."
"My advice to others considering this product is that they will experience a very good, stable product which is very easy to set up."
"The performance is good."

Cons

"To improve Ivanti Virtual Application Delivery Controller (vADC), I would suggest integrating something to fix the registry of a server, as including any steps that fix the registry or any DLL files causing issues where patches did not install properly would be beneficial."
"Customer support for Ivanti Virtual Application Delivery Controller (vADC) has been very lacking, which is one of my biggest issues because we have had not great experiences with their customer support over time."
"I chose eight out of ten for Ivanti Virtual Application Delivery Controller (vADC) because from the point of view of the configuration, it took so much time on the security side to configure."
"It doesn't have the bonding capability feature."
"Loadbalancer.org's complexity could be reduced."
"There are many features you can set in the backend of Loadbalancer. They should simplify the configuration. The administrator should be able to configure it more simply. How it is now, you can only configure it if you have a lot of experience."
"They're mostly designed to balance a particular type of traffic. I wanted to load balance DNS, and they just don't do it the way that we wanted to. So they're not used as DNS load balancers."
"An area for improvement in Loadbalancer.org is that sometimes it works fine, but sometimes, it has issues. The setup for Loadbalancer.org is also complex, so that's another area for improvement."
"The appliances have not had a measurable effect on our operating costs (payback on investment)."
"The configuration is somewhat complicated. Someone who does not know the solution may find this challenging."
"LoadBalancer Enterprise could work more on content caching by bypassing the back-end server more often and making the cache more accessible so that it gives better and more robust results."

"The solution requires an annual support license of $2,780 for four systems or $695 a year per unit for support not including the units."
"I love that they do not price on some arbitrary throughput rating where you are guessing at what the load balancer is going to handle."
"It is inexpensive, and even their “unlimited” version, the VA MAX is still far cheaper than competitors."
"Licensing fees are paid annually."
