Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Suitable for a small-scale business but not evolved enough for a large enterprise
The best thing with that Jacada is that they are a repository builder, which we use for our assessment to gauge and match screens. Jacada has evolved, but I'm not using the latest version. Technically we use our internal product more, which is iAutomate. We also use UiPath and Automation Anywhere…

Automation has transformed document processing and frees teams to focus on higher‑value analysis
Sometimes, we encounter system errors that could be resolved via support, but connection issues are more frequent in enterprise applications. However, these can usually be solved by raising tickets if you are part of an enterprise, though we are not, which makes it somewhat challenging. It is vital to ensure the connections of UiPath Platform are maintained because it has a larger community. If UiPath Platform website included more features and documentation accessible easily, it would greatly enhance the experience. Instead of continually needing to raise support tickets, having a documentation hub where details can just be entered to retrieve required documents would be extremely beneficial.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"My experience with the deployment has been very good."
"Using automation, these processes are completed in between one and two hours, using one robot, and with these savings in time, the staff can do more in other areas, improving productivity and creativity while reducing the need for overtime and positively impacting the company overall."
"Automation Anywhere has excellent features."
"We have had a lot of success using Automation Anywhere products and we've actually built a few solutions that were done on the EY cloud, which are offered to clients as a managed service."
"The most valuable feature is the object cloning."
"When considering all the facts, this is one of the most user-friendly RPA tools that I have worked with."
"Automation Anywhere has impacted our efficiency and productivity in a very positive way since we are shutting down a very manual process."
"Working with the Automation Anywhere application is very easy in our environment."
"The best thing with Jacada is that they are a repository builder, which we use for our assessment to gauge and match screens."
"The initial setup was fairly straightforward."
"By leveraging Agentic Automation, I have achieved a time reduction of almost 80%."
"Within the first year, we saved a little over $600,000, which totaled to almost 19 FTEs that we ended up saving."
"The OCR engine is a valuable feature."
"After using UiPath Platform, one of the most significant achievements is that our manual effort has been reduced, we now have faster processing time; instead of taking hours, tasks can be completed in minutes, we have also received better compliance and detailed audit logs, regression testing effort has been reduced compared to before, early detection in the CI/CD pipeline, which was not previously available, is now very easy, software quality has improved significantly, and the release pipeline has been greatly improved."
"What I appreciate about UiPath is that, compared to the competitors, it has pretty much everything. There are so many out-of-the-box solutions that it's difficult to find a match."
"UiPath has helped reduce human error. We are working with clients where it is very important to provide them their necessary services. We are a telecom company, so we are providing activation of numbers, etc. If people are doing this manually, it can cause inconveniences for our clients, but it might also put the reputation at stake. For example, because when people do it manually, they can send out the wrong invoice. This is a huge reputation risk, because sometimes we are working not only with just a person, but with a business. When we work with other companies, it is important to do things accurately. When the robots do things, there is almost a 100% probability that they won't make any mistakes, like typos."
"Currently, our group is saving about 1.5 million a year through all of our automations that we've implemented through UiPath Platform."
"It has a core tool set of things in use to quickly put together an automation, whether it's interacting with an application or website. It gives you the tool kit that you need to quickly put something together. Very often, we can create something in a very short time frame, like in less than a day, and show it to someone. Then, they can see the immediate value of the solution."

Cons

"After implementing, I have seen that some customers are not getting ROI from that, so they are stepping back from using Automation Anywhere."
"There are some business areas for which this tool is not capable of doing, such as in the areas of graphically-based input."
"I would like to see a built-in read-only role for the control room so that the bot creators can log in and monitor the production environment without any auditing concerns."
"Automation Anywhere can be improved by addressing the server issues we occasionally encounter when running the bot on the runner."
"We have a new feature share in Automation Anywhere, but it does not migrate automatically from the previous version to the new one."
"Scalability has been a pain point; the scalability is there, but there are ongoing operational issues with it."
"We have used the technical support. I am quite unhappy with the support part."
"We had several issues when trying to connect the different components, due to our firewalls. They were eventually solved by our internal IT and the AA technical team."
"They need to create a workflow system."
"When we first started using Jacada, the technical support was not good at all; however, they were just getting started then."
"With UiPath, it's a little bit of a nightmare; it becomes harder to debug the bigger your automation is, because it's quite unpredictable and it's quite unstable."
"As a customer, one of my frustration points is that I'm not sure the customer success team is engaged at the right level with the customers; there's too much focus on selling more product versus helping to evolve the COE."
"UiPath Insights needs improvement. It's been almost five months since we got it, and I'm yet to see a business impact dashboard, which was the selling point. Trying to get Insights support has been really tricky. The documentation that's out there is not detailed enough, and it doesn't really tell you how to make it happen. I've paid for a product for five months that I still can't present to my senior leadership."
"Stability looks good except that we see that when we run the bot sometimes somewhere in the middle it fails. It will recovers, but I don't know why and can't answer to my customers why. I don't know if something can be done to eliminate the failing piece. I don't know whether it is a stability issue, but it should be handled in future."
"In my current process with UiPath Platform, I experienced an issue with a SharePoint activity and raised a ticket with the UiPath support team. The initiative was good—they came with a call and all—but the issue did not resolve even after two to three months."
"The documentation can be a little bit lacking. I think they improved it a little bit last month. Last time I checked, it seemed like they spent a bit of time trying to improve it. Sometimes some of the processes are nicely documented. UiPath offers training, which they provide on their website. They teach you how to use it, but for some processes, it just seems like the documentation isn't really there. It makes it a little bit difficult when you're using a specific process from the first time."
"There is a lot of scope to integrate more AI-based features that will help improve the reading of unstructured data."
"I would like to see some use cases and additional information on the process mining and the OCR features that are being released."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It depends. For example, for my group, we are centralizing the infrastructure in Paris. Our contract is signed with Automation Anywhere in France. The currency and the pricing of Automation Anywhere in France can appear beneficial and interesting for Germany and Scandinavian countries, but when we share our infra and are internally charging other countries such as Poland, Brazil, or some other country with a lower currency value as compared to Euro, it becomes less beneficial. They would prefer to sign the contract directly with Automation Anywhere because they will benefit from a price that is as per their local market."
"Yearly, our licensing costs are about $90,000 to $100,000. There will be additional licensing costs when we add more Bot Runners to our infrastructure."
"Pricing is too high for small-scale groups. The Control Room yearly fee is high, making it difficult to break even."
"Complaints are generally about the cost of IQ Bot, which is higher than its competitors. The base model’s pricing is comparable to other platforms with attended, unattended, and IDP capabilities as well."
"Based on what I've heard, it's costly, but I don't know much about its pricing."
"Automation Anywhere might have a higher upfront cost than some competitors, but its extensive features and seamless integration with other tools can save organizations money in the long run."
"The enterprise version is expensive for small businesses and individual users."
"This is a comprehensive automation offering with a scalable architecture and flexible pricing models."

"This solution is priced less compared with other products."
"UiPath is an expensive solution but it is worth the money. You have a lot of features."
"The pricing is competitive. I like the solution's pricing structure."
"If you purchase an Orchestrator then it's pricey but you receive the benefit that it runs many processes simultaneously."
"UiPath is expensive compared to other solutions like AutomationEdge, which is cheap. Last year, it wasn't too high, but I believe they updated their licensing model, making it very costly."
"I would rate the cost of UiPath eight out of ten with ten being the most expensive."
"I began learning UiPath with the Community version, which is available free of charge."
"UiPath is a pretty expensive tool compared to what the market offers, including open-source alternatives that can do similar things."
