I've evaluated Splunk and IBM Q1 but LogLogic is the best choice for log management. SIEM functionality needs improvement.
If you are searching for log management solution, LogLogic is probably the best choice. The SIEM functionality is not at that level, and I suggest instead to choose another SIEM solution (eg: IBM Q1). In my experience, a good practice is to separate log management from SIEM in a way that they are two separate systems.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The AlienVault solution has enabled us to create a SOC on a budget with smaller than usual staff requirements, offering a wider range of solutions for our customers."
"The most valuable feature is threat intelligence."
"It is the most valuable tool that I have seen of the SIEM solutions."
"It has powerful threat detection, incident response, and compliance management."
"We are very happy, the training was excellent, and the interaction with AlienVault is first rate - a real leader in customer service, and the OTX pulse feature is very useful."
"As we have to service several servers, we can manage them in a economical way, which is beneficial to our team and business."
"The pricing is amazing and really cheap."
"Pricing was a very important consideration and lower than the other SIEM solutions evaluated."
"If you are searching for log management solution, LogLogic is probably the best choice."
"Having logs in a central location helps with troubleshooting, forensic investigations, and legal investigations."

Cons

"This solution could be easier to use."
"Its reporting tools need improvements. It would be good if they can provide integration with other ticketing systems. Currently, we only have integration with Slack and Jira. It is also a bit slow, and its replication engine can be improved."
"Scaling, and it has no APIs! It would be hard for any legitimate MSSP to use it."
"In emergency cases, it is difficult to reach them."
"My biggest challenge has always been the fine tuning that is sometimes required for some networks."
"As it includes multiple security softwares, the installation and configuration takes a lot of time."
"It should be able to communicate with other security solutions to stop threats."
"The solution doesn't scale well if you are talking about enterprises using it."
"Customer Service: On a scale of 1-5, 0. They say the right things but don't deliver when it counts."
"Definitely SIEM – other vendors have gone a lot further in developing SIEM functionality and made a lot more in this area."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price of this solution is reasonable, which is one of the reasons why we selected it over other solutions."
"I don't know exactly, but I know it is based on the number of logs and the retention duration, such as 30 days or something like that. So, the smallest package is about 500 a month for 30 days of logs. There is a virtual machine. You need resources for it. It is a log collecting VM. They provide the software, and you just have to load a virtual machine. So, you're going to incur some CPU RAM and storage for wherever this log collecting appliance is running, which typically is in our cloud and on our platform for the customer."
"Use an MSSP instead. It is much cheaper."
"The price point is good."
"The price for this solution is very good, but since the features do not work the price is expensive."
"I rate the price of AT&T AlienVault USM a four out of five."
"So far, it has been a good solution for a tight budget."
"It's very reasonably priced. It was one of the lowest among the ones I looked at. Licensing is pretty flexible. They can do a two-year or a three-year, even a one-year, perhaps."
