A low-performing integration tool
We use it as an in-house back-type integration tool. It allows us to have different integrations between different systems It does not perform well. It needs more reusable components that are unlimited in time. Furthermore, it relies on the files systems and does not create components, so it is…

Reporting has become streamlined for year-end data checks but integration still needs improvement
When I talk about SQL Server, I am working with SSIS, the data integration tool. I am not entirely sure if I use SSIS as a library of transformations or if I personally work with an extensive library of transformations. I have integrated SSIS with SQL Server Management Studio, and I am very satisfied with the integration as it is integrated well. I am not using the debugging feature in SSIS because the developers would be the ones that would actually utilize it. I have noticed that in 2022, AI functionality has actually been implemented already. I would rate this review overall at a 7.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The stability of the solution is OK."
"Like most Microsoft products, SSIS is user-friendly and easy to use."
"I like that this solution is very scalable, accommodating large datasets and various types of servers. It integrates with most common database servers and allows for customization through coding, including complex scripts. Compared to Alteryx Designer, SSIS offers more customization. Its data cleaning capabilities are highly accurate because we can run tests as data is loaded, ensuring it meets all requirements before reaching the final destination. The ability to write custom SQL and C# code within SSIS packages is its greatest feature."
"The solution is easy to use and developer friendly."
"The most valuable features of this solution are the fast insert and fuzzy logic matching."
"It is also easy to learn and user-friendly. Microsoft is also good in terms of technical support. They have built a large community all over the world."
"This solution is easy to implement, has a wide variety of connectors, has support for Visual Basic, and supports the C language."
"With virtualization enabled we are able to scale horizontally."
"SSIS integrates well with SQL servers and Microsoft products, is a cheaper option than other ETL tools, has a lot of in-built transformation, and is easy to learn."

Cons

"It does not perform well. It needs more reusable components that are unlimited in time."
"It is not performing well."
"This solution is stable, but the performance is not good."
"It would be nice if you could run SSIS on other environments besides Windows."
"Again it failed a lot and by a lot I mean every day. The failures were false alarms and caused many sleepless night for our company that I used to work for."
"Need to improve error logging although it does provide error logs but there is still more room for improvement in this area."
"The high prices attached to the product can be an area of concern where improvements are required."
"The debugging could be improved because when it came to solving the errors that I've experienced in the past, I've had to look at the documentation for more information."
"The UI could use refinement."
"There's no support for it at all. If you haven't undergone the qualifications, you wouldn't even know you should phone someone."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"This solution is included with the MSSQL server package."
"Depending on the arrangement that a certain company has with Microsoft, it may supply the permanent license that is included in the SQL server license, or it may be a time-bound license if it is a partner license or other enterprise license."
"It would be beneficial if the solution had a less costly cloud offering."
"SSIS' licensing is a little high, but it gives good value for money."
"The solution is available at a lesser price than that of Informatica."
"The solution is economical. You don't have to worry about the pricing as long as you're installing both services on the same server."
"SSIS is fairly well-priced - I would rate it at four out of five."
"This solution has provided an inexpensive tool, and it is easy to find experienced developers."
