Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Manual ticketing features hinder workflow, but cost-effective ticket management is ensured
We just use it because it's more trouble to rip it out than to replace it with a more expensive tool. I would not recommend this product to others. If budget is a concern, it might be suitable but it doesn’t excite. Hence, I would rate it a four out of ten.

Omni-channel routing has transformed case handling and now supports complex field operations
From my experience, we might need queue-based alignment in Omni-Channel routing. Assignment rules should be defined at the flow level. The challenge with SLA creation is evident in escalation rules, which should include a field flagging feature that is lacking in the current setup. Einstein Bot, linked with Omni-Channel messaging, is complex to define, with a need for all related information in one place, making the process cumbersome. Understanding which bot is associated with specific messaging apps requires manual searching, and this can be improved.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature is the Excel operations because the most repetitive task which we used to do was Excel operations, and Automation Anywhere has the Excel commands feature where we can run Excel Macros, which is very valuable and is saving so much time for us."
"The capacity to use Automation Anywhere in the cloud is the most valuable feature."
"We have the MetaBot feature, which is valuable because we can read reusable components in the MetaBot, then use them as a framework."
"What Automation Anywhere does exceptionally well is allowing users—especially those without a technical background—to navigate easily, and if you know how to work with Excel or Word, you can simply type commands in plain English like 'save Excel' or 'open Excel' to find the corresponding actions."
"AA has improved our digital strategy extensively and provided the required leverage to place ourselves above other peers in the O&G Industry. We were able to develop quick digital solutions by demonstrating the ROI and gain momentum by aligning the desired resources & budget from leadership."
"The built-in features, such as the connector builder and AI development tools, are easily accessible, keeping the software up-to-date."
"It has helped us look at how our processes are organized."
"One of our customers here in the Middle East has saved around 10,000 man-hours for a telecom company with the help of 50 to 60 robots initially, and now the same company is using around 4,000 robots now."
"When using it predominantly for a help desk solution, it seems like an absolutely fine product."
"Their tech support has been talking to us about expanding features like integrations with Microsoft Teams."
"ManageEngine SupportCenter Plus works fine as a help desk software and is relatively inexpensive."
"The product is very scalable and stable when used as a help desk once it is built out."
"The most valuable features are the ITIL compliance and billing."
"Their technical support has been very helpful and is very good."
"We have found the reporting in this product to be very useful."
"The product teams are continuously on the products trying to improve them. If, for example, I ask for a change to be done in the software, the chances are in the next release it's going to be done and incorporated. It's this personal touch that I like."
"With the implementation of a complete Service Renewal Cycle using Salesforce, their threshold value of conversion got reduced from 1-2 weeks to a single day!"
"The solution is a great product. It's hosted on a platform that offers various features, such as email, social media, phone calls, and chatbots. You can connect with customers through any of these channels."
"The built-in, ready-to-go package of case management, email management and social media management with a knowledge base helps to speed up the implementation time."
"Customer service is very good."
"Regarding pricing, I would say Salesforce field service is affordable, but the cost is increasing a little bit."
"There are several good features, but the most valuable to us are the integrated email, entitlements, and the overall powerfulness of the platform."
"Head count in service management was reduced, department moved into a profitable position, and we increased service business by 30%."
"In terms of visibility to my boss and the team, it does help a lot."

Cons

"I noticed that from version 10.5 to 11.3 the number of clicks to start a bot through the Control Room and Schedule Manager have increased. In certain cases, I would like to see that become simpler, faster, and easier."
"We only faced some problems when integrating it with SAP, and Oracle integration was a bit challenging, especially with Oracle Fusion. We had some issues when we were trying to connect some of the applications on the API level. But, in general, integration using Automation Anywhere is fine."
"One area where I can see room for improvement is the training material that is available."
"The A2019 in early releases had been quite unstable to our experience."
"However, the AI Sense Recorder is too slow, so they can enhance its features for easier user experience."
"I would like more integration into the entire Microsoft Suite of products, not just Excel. Companies use all of Microsoft products at the same time, and being good at just one Microsoft tool is a limiting factor. Being able to use Microsoft Excel, Access, and Outlook together and have them integrated (as standard) into the tool would be very useful, especially when you go into attended automation."
"I used document automation about two years ago, however, it did not work as expected at that time, providing results around 70% to 80%. After that, we turned to third-party tools."
"We want to have greater control on deciding when we want to upgrade to a newer version"
"I would like to see some kind of project management or portfolio management in a future version."
"There is no cloud-based version and it would be helpful if it were available."
"They're pretty good but there's always room for improvement. There should be more templates that users can utilize immediately."
"ManageEngine, in my experience, fosters that type of environment; it doesn't have an easy button, a graphic user interface, ease-of-use, and ease-of-dev — the product does not have any of that."
"The tech support is terrible and that seems to be a part of their business plan."
"The product is very difficult to use and configure and requires specialists."
"The business model for the company is to sell low and charge for customization, education or expertise."
"ManageEngine SupportCenter Plus could improve on workflow automation features."
"Specifically, they need to improve the Knowledge Management module."
"The pricing of the various editions could be improved."
"The solution’s user interface could be improved and enhanced."
"The pricing of the solution can be made cheaper."
"The integrations with other solutions can be improved."
"The pricing of Salesforce Service Cloud is expensive compared to other solutions like our current SAP CRM, which is much cheaper."
"The governor limits are a troubling feature of Salesforce"
"Reporting could be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Our annual licensing costs for the entire company are $100,000."
"We're on a license package with Automation Anywhere (AA), paid yearly. What would be better is for them to have different packages for different types of organization."
"IQ Bots are very costly. It's not a sustainable bot for us as of now. We will look for better, alternate options for that."
"We have seen about a 10 percent monetary savings."
"The cost for scalability is much cheaper than developing a new system."
"On average, a bot runner in Automation Anywhere can cost $5,000, while in Microsoft Power Automate, you can get most of the same functionality for $100."
"This solution costs approximately $3,500 USD per license."
"We're just starting to renew our license, and we were quoted $115,000 without the IQ Bot. The IQ Bot is another $30,000. This is with very limited pages, as we go through our first projects. The majority of the cost was for ten days of onsite training."
"The licensing fees depend on different criteria, including options and sizing."
"ManageEngine products will always be the lowest cost in category as that is part of their business model."
"The licensing is flexible. Companies pay for what they use. However, a company with very small needs might find it difficult to justify the cost. Overall, it's in the medium price range."
"The product is expensive. There is a need to make yearly payments towards the licensing costs attached to the product."
"Salesforce is very cost-effective."
"The price of the solution depends on how many users need access to it"
"I believe that in our country, Colombia, we utilize this platform for the Latin American region. In terms of expenses, it's somewhat higher compared to other products. I would rate it as expensive and nine out of ten."
"Salesforce Service Cloud is a highly expensive solution"
"The tool is pretty expensive."
"Only enterprise businesses can afford the solution, and small companies cannot afford it."
