Offers smooth data integration between systems, but requires better real-time analytics capabilities
We leverage its capabilities for many applications. We can integrate with our databases, like Oracle, MySQL, or any other, using Microsoft Integration Services. This lets us continue using private databases without paying additional licensing fees. Additionally, the license includes Analytics services and Power BI, which work on-premises, unlike most other technologies that require cloud solutions.

Daily restaurant dashboards have become faster and now support simultaneous team analytics
Some of the best features of Snowflake Analytics is how it is separated for compute and storage, which allows multiple teams to run queries without performance impact. Our project has more than nine or ten teams, so if a team is working on a particular dashboard and another team wants to work on Snowflake Analytics, they can easily work on it without disturbing the work of one team, ensuring that the work can be consistent and multiple users can use the tool simultaneously. This is one of the main features I appreciate about Snowflake Analytics. The other aspect is how the query performance is high due to its columnar storage and also automatic optimization, allowing for scaling down during weekdays when there is less data and scaling up during weekends or festivals when the data can be huge. Because of this automatic scaling, if there is less data, we are using only 5 GB instead of 10 GB, which reduces the storage level, and consequently, the cost can be reduced. This automatic scaling and optimization saves us a huge amount of money for our project. Snowflake Analytics has impacted our organization positively by providing faster query performance and better scalability. Previously, we faced issues with slow queries due to traditional systems, but within Snowflake, we can assign separate virtual warehouses for reporting as well as data processing, ensuring that it does not impact tool performance and does not delay reporting to business users. Analysts can run complex queries without affecting ETL workloads due to this separation, which has improved our speed of reporting, and our business users have expressed happiness due to how fast we are generating reports during peak hours.

Pros

"We leverage its capabilities for many applications. We can integrate with our databases, like Oracle, MySQL, or any other, using Microsoft Integration Services."
"This is a well-integrated solution and that integration empowers results."
"The result is a highly flexible, affordable, and scalable platform that makes large-scale Hub and Spoke EDW architectures a practical reality."
"Microsoft Analytics Platform System's most valuable feature is its ecosystems and seamless integration with other Microsoft reporting platforms and databases."
"I like that it's integrated with other Azure products."
"Helps our customers to discover trends, which provides useful information based on their business."
"I think Microsoft Stack offers the end-to-end solution I need."
"This solution will connect to any database, you can combine databases, and you can create a cube or tabular model."
"Snowflake Analytics has played a major role in improving our data model transformations, increasing our productivity by allowing us to do things very quickly and receive results rapidly, and reducing the time and effort required for coding compared to traditional methods and Python."
"One advantage is that installation is unnecessary since it's cloud-based. You subscribe to a Snowflake instance, configure it, and start using it. It's very user-friendly and allows you to scale up or down based on usage."
"The solution is completely managed and that's fantastic."
"We have experienced a 40 to 50% improvement in ROI compared to legacy systems."
"The most important feature is the warehouse functionality."
"While we've done many complex implementations, Snowflake always has a way of simplifying things."
"The computational power of Snowflake is very good."
"It is an all-in-one platform that provides the capabilities needed for various analytics tasks, including data warehousing for machine learning."

Cons

"I think the biggest problem with the product is that it does a data ingest model, which is very expensive."
"Machine learning and artificial intelligence capabilities need to be more friendly for beginning users."
"Microsoft Analytics Platform System could have better support."
"Functionality needs to be more up-to-date with competing products."
"On a scale from one to ten where one is the worst and ten is the best, I would rate this product overall as a five. This is probably because there is still a lot of room for improvement, features that other products have that are missing, and a lot of open-source technology nowadays that are very good and people can use instead."
"Hybrid environments are complex to manage."
"The pricing model needs to be improved."
"Releases of new products and functionality is never accompanied by associated documentation, training and resources that adequately explain the release."
"The solution’s interface is good but it could be improved."
"The UI must be improved."
"Implementing everything on-premise is challenging because it require proper support from advisors, DBAs, and others."
"The pricing visibility is complex. If you understand pricing, you can estimate costs, but if not, it can be challenging."
"End-to-end execution of jobs isn't possible with Snowflake, which means we have to do some customization."
"The tool should support EIM use cases. I guess the product is already working on it. I look forward to seeing inbuilt AI generative tools in the solution's future releases. The tool's price can be a little lower. The solution's on-premises support is also very limited. We have to rely on other support services to deploy it on-premises."
"Snowflake should include a WHERE clause for building data pipelines."
"One improvement Snowflake Analytics could benefit from is in cost, particularly during peak hours."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The initial price is lower than Oracle, but extensive use of SQL may lead to a higher total cost of ownership."
"We are currently paying $200,000 a year for all the different parts of the suite during an ingest model Microsoft now charges us $700,000 a year."
"I rate Microsoft Analytics Platform System a seven out of ten for pricing."
"Users have to pay extra for premium-level technical support."
"The solution's price is high and I would rate it an eight out of ten."
"It is not overly expensive. I would rate the pricing a six out of ten, with ten being expensive."
"It is an expensive solution, but the kind of usability and flexibility it proactively provides for the organizations justify the price."
"Snowflake Analytics is a little more costly than Azure."
"I rate the product's licensing cost a five or six on a scale of one to ten, where one is low price, and ten is high price."
"I have been using free trial version."
"Snowflake Analytics is not an expensive solution, and its pricing is average."
"On a scale of one to ten, where one is a low price, and ten is a high price, I rate the pricing a seven. The solution's pricing is high."
