Advanced email filtering has blocked massive spam volumes and prevents unauthorized data leaks
Improvements for Mimecast Advanced Email Security include enhancing the user interface and accessibility, particularly regarding admin capabilities to add or modify user accounts. Streamlining this could improve overall usability and security management for users. Reporting is another area needing improvement in Mimecast Advanced Email Security, as the reports provided are not very easy to decipher. With artificial intelligence being integrated into various tools including Mimecast Advanced Email Security, I believe there is potential to enhance functionality, enabling users to ask specific questions and retrieve concise answers instead of overwhelming data. I choose a nine for Mimecast Advanced Email Security because improvements such as better user interface and artificial intelligence integration features would greatly enhance its usability. While no tool is perfect, these adjustments could greatly elevate Mimecast Advanced Email Security's capabilities.

Inexpensive, with good email security, but the technical support could be improved
We don't have as many problems with email security. They have some areas that could be improved. For example, we also use this solution for email encryption, which was clunky and could be improved, but the email security itself has been excellent. The web interface works well but the Outlook plug-in has been problematic. We've had to uninstall/reinstall it. On some Outlook clients (including mine), it causes Outlook to stop responding. I disabled the Outlook plug-in and only use the web interface.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Based on overall experience, Mimecast Email Security is the best solution for traditional gateways."
"Mimecast Advanced Email Security has positively impacted our organization by securing our environment better than before compared to what we used to configure earlier to deliver the email."
"Mimecast is pretty good, even if you're on Office 365."
"URL inspection works pretty well."
"We're now certain business-critical mail is perfectly protected in multiple ways."
"Mimecast Advanced Email Security proves to be a useful tool, allowing me as security personnel to work in a more peaceful manner."
"The solution is scalable."
"We like Mimecast's spam filtering. The email signature feature is also a big plus for our users."
"They do a better job of determining what's real and what's not than most of the other solutions we have tried, and it's been very painless to use."

Cons

"This solution can be frustrating. It blocks many things that should be going through."
"Lately, Mimecast's outbound mail servers have been regularly blocklisted by spam filters. That didn't happen a few years back, but it seems to be a more frequent problem these days. When a server is blocklisted, it means all of my outgoing mail ends up in the recipient's junk mail. That affects my reputation and business confidence."
"Technical support has been slower than it was in the past, likely due to the pandemic."
"The filtering needs more flexibility."
"The interface isn't the best. How everything works on the back end is confusing."
"The detection rates are an area for improvement."
"The reaction time between a new threat being identified and Mimecast picking it up needs to be narrowed a bit."
"Mimecast Advanced Email Security needs to improve in this area because they are only focusing on a particular set of problems which is on email and human risk, whereas companies that need a slightly bigger picture will look elsewhere."
"Because the encryption has been very clunky, I would rate Zix Email Encryption a seven out of ten."
"They have some areas that could be improved. For example, we also use this solution for email encryption, which was clunky and could be improved, but the email security itself has been excellent."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is a bit expensive."
"The price of Mimecast Mailbox Continuity is expensive."
"On a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive, I rate the pricing a ten."
"Two subscription options are currently offered: monthly and yearly. My suggestion is to opt for the yearly subscription as it can give some discount. The pricing isn't high as other cloud solutions are pricier than Microsoft's offerings."
"Compared to the other products in the market, it is neither cheap but nor very expensive. I would rate it somewhere in the middle, 5 out of 10."
"The licensing costs are per-user for the product that you get with them."
"For what it is, the product is overpriced."
"The customers can select the license packages as per their requirements."
"In terms of pricing, I believe they provide excellent value."
