Provides a stable solution but would improve by developing an all-in-one-solution
The advice I would give to anyone looking at implementing Netreo into their organization would be to do your market research and evaluate the product, do not just choose it because someone recommends it to you. Overall, from my perspective, I would rate the solution a seven out of ten.

PRTG Network Monitor can be improved because the dashboard themes feel outdated. It should be updated to a newer version for the new Gen Z customers. The notification sound options are limited unless customized. Restarting probes after Windows updates is necessary, and there should be some kind of automatic restart. The initial auto-discovery added too many unnecessary sensors, so auto-discovery should only take the necessary sensors into consideration.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The technical support team at Netreo is pretty good."
"Accessibility, ease of use (Web GUI, MobileApps). In general, compared with other software"
"My advice to those wanting to purchase a monitoring solution with simple and easy-to-use features, go with this solution."
"If you're looking for a cost effective software I’d suggest this product."
"It helps the entire organization become digitally enabled."
"The remote probe feature in PRTG Network Monitor helps you monitor remote systems or your network at a lower cost than other solutions."
"The solution has enabled our IT department to be more cost-effective; it cuts down on downtime, brings to our attention the operational problems that we have so we can focus our attention on those, and constantly ensures our systems are up and running in a solid position, effectively removing the costs attributed to downtime."
"PRTG Network Monitor is a scalable product even though there are currently restrictions in our country."
"If you're looking from a holistic infrastructure deployment and monitoring perspective, it's a good tool to use and to start with."

Cons

"The scalability of Netreo is lacking."
"PRTG Network Monitor can be improved because the dashboard themes feel outdated."
"PRTG's application monitoring sensor is not strong and could be improved, and I've also had some issues with it crashing during upgrades."
"Although they are fairly comprehensive with what you can do with them, the mapping and dashboards are a bit clunky to set up."
"PRTG Network Monitor definitely has room for improvement. They need to change their strategies because it has become relatively expensive compared to what it used to be."
"Mostly, this software has sensors for devices to monitor specs and you can build or develop or modify various sensors, according to your company's needs. But you may need to do that with coding or plugins or with the support of Paessler AG, the manufacturer."
"It probably has this already, but if it had a mobile app that would be helpful. For example, on a day like today when I'm out, if I could just fire it up and see green, green, green, green, green or red, that would be good."
"I would like to see Office 365 monitoring. Essentially, it doesn't do it. I assumed not at all, but apparently it does it slightly. However, due to issues with APIs, they currently don't provide full monitoring for O365."
"The desktop app is the one area where it could do with some improvement. From a user's perspective, I would like to be able to get more out of the desktop app as opposed to where we are now with it."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"I rate the licensing for PRTG Network Monitor an eight out of ten."
"We are using the premium version of PRTG Network Monitor. The price of the solution is a bit higher than competitors but it is worth the extra money. However, it would be helpful if the price was lower."
"All monitoring system is close to the same pricing scheme."
"We looked at PRTG and SolarWinds. From a cost side perspective, compared to PRTG, and from what you get back from it, PRTG was sort of a hands down the winner."
"I rate the price of PRTG Network Monitor an eight on a scale of one to ten, where one is a high price, and ten is a low price."
"We pay for a perpetual license and we have a support fee."
"One thing I like is that when you buy sensors, it's a perpetual license, so once you buy 2,000 sensors, you've got 2,000 sensors; it's not a recurring cost."
"If you are not too sure about it, try the free version. Then, if you like it, you can go to the paid version and roll it out."
