Secure remote access has protected critical data and now simplifies role-based user management
An area for improvement is the pricing model. The concurrent user licenses get expensive pretty quickly as your organization grows, so more flexible pricing options would be a huge plus. Another area is configurational disconnect. While the admin web UI handles about 90% of what you need, the moment you have to do deep, advanced routing customization, you still have to drop back to the command line interface to make those changes. It would be great to see those deeper configurations completely integrated into the web portal. Lastly, it would be awesome to see native support for newer, lighter protocols through WireGuard built straight into the platform alongside standard OpenVPN for better performance efficiency.

Efficient technical support with good synchronization features, but it needs better security
We would like to be to secure access to all of the servers for all of the internal workers and engineers. We would like to have tools that provide us with security for our servers. I would like to see an improved repository to better see the users. We have a new project that requires a lot of security we will not continue with SecureLink. The security features offered in SecureLink are not enough.

Pros

"It can scale well."
"It was very easy to set up users."

"The initial setup was easy."
"The initial setup phase of OpenVPN Access Server was fine, and it was easy."
"The best features OpenVPN Access Server offers are ease of setup, and it is just easy."
"The main benefits that I have seen from using OpenVPN Access Server are that it is simple, easy, and secure."
"OpenVPN Access Server has positively impacted my organization mainly through improved security for myself."
"The most valuable feature is synchronizing the limited access for partners or sub-contractors."
"Technical support is very efficient and very supportive."

Cons

"The lack of an official Linux client is a clear gap."
"The solution should provide a faster connection, and its security could be improved."
"There was one annoying feature where we had to disable and enable the user."
"The connections could be faster and more stable."
"OpenVPN Access Server can be improved by addressing the issue we faced with a single VPN server since it does not allow the creation of replicas without a load balancer, which we found to be an availability issue that could be easily fixed."
"OpenVPN Access Server could be improved in several areas. The encryption strength is inevitably lower compared with the latest technologies, and when I try to add features like two-factor authentication, the needed plugins and so on often are not really available or do not fit well."
"I find that connection speed with OpenVPN Access Server loses in comparison to WireGuard, which is very fast."
"I rate the price for OpenVPN as overpriced at the moment."
"The security features offered in SecureLink are not enough."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"At one point I had to purchase addition connection licenses. I was very pleased with the pricing and licensing; so much easier than navigating the confusing jungle of Microsoft and Cisco licensing and pricing. That alone made the product a delight to manage."
"The licensing has a fixed pricing."
"OpenVPN is an open-source solution. If the solution is used for personal use it is free. For non-personal use, the solution can be expensive."
"The solution was free of charge."
"Open VPN Access Server is open-source and free of charge."
"The product offers yearly as well as monthly subscription plans. It has moderate pricing."
"The Pro Edition has a reasonable price per user."
"OpenVPN Access Server is free and open source."
"We are not happy with the recent increase in the price."
