Daily invoice analytics has become streamlined and complex data modeling is now simplified
We are not using analytics features and possibly predictive analytics and forecasting features in QlikView, although they are available. QlikView is very flexible, but we are currently using only tabular presentation of data because that is what we need. Presenting a large volume of data in QlikView with graphics can be overwhelming for the majority of people who want to see a lot of information in one picture. It would be beneficial to have AI or ML features in QlikView. However, I think they will decommission QlikView, and AI features are already available in Qlik Sense, so you would need to migrate to that platform.

Connection should be simplified, but it's priced well
For anyone who intends to implement this solution, I would recommend contacting technical support the first time it doesn't work. At this time, I cannot recommend this solution to others because I cannot connect. Because of the connection issues that we are experiencing, I would rate this solution a five out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Flexible, quick access by end users, can promote user self service reporting."
"It is a stable product."
"On the positive side, QlikView's scripting is a great asset as it functions as an ETL."
"The features of this product that are most valuable are: its point and click user interface, speed, ability to follow dependencies in data, ability to fix any view in my special sheet, ability to track back to data sources for any output value or part of a graph."
"In-memory performance – It allows slicing and dicing of a huge volume of data in the dashboard very fast if designed optimally."
"The associative/relationship engine and fast performance are the most valuable features of the product for me."
"I think it's the best data analysis/discovery tool I've ever seen."
"It gives intuitive data insights to improve and optimize our global supply chain (help drive and build strategy to improve on-time delivery, reduce quality and damage returns, etc.), with a few simple clicks to drill down to the details (down to the SKU level and call centre conversation details with customers)."
"I am looking forward to testing their full graphics that are available, as they looked very interesting in the demo."
"The solution has great capability, performance, flexibility, visuals, everything, and we also have a very good relationship with the consultants and the solution is also very cost effective."

Cons

"It could be more mobile friendly, as some of its features don’t work properly on mobile devices or do not provide the best user experience to our customers who would like to extend their access to data."
"Although Qliktech's road map clearly states that QlikView has a long way to go, most of the R&D effort seems to be benefiting Qlik Sense."
"After deployment, while extracting data from SAP BW, a timeout error occurred many times."
"Initial setup was complex with respect to building the same project environment for a different business domain."
"I have several lower-level users who don’t need full functionality of the tool, but do need to access more than one model. In this regard, the licensing structure is limiting and costly for a user who is not using the analytical aspects of the tool."
"QlikView should have a connector or a specific product to allow people outside of the company or that don’t have a license to read/use the application (a kind of reader license)."
"I would like to see more advanced features from Qlik Sense integrated into QlikView to keep it competitive and up-to-date."
"QlikView is probably on the pricier side than other BI tools."
"It's quite a stable solution although we sometimes encounter issues internally within our IT department with regard to the structure."
"At this time, I cannot recommend this solution to others because I cannot connect."
"There should be a better or an easier way to establish that connection to external sources."
"Would like the ability to be able to benchmark."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is quite expensive, rating at around nine out of ten on a cost scale."
"It is expensive for small companies."
"My firm got the product at a cheap price, but in general, I believe that the product is a bit costly."
"QlikView pricing and licensing is on the high side for a small sized company, but it's competitive among its peers."
"It has an annual license. It is expensive as compared to other competitive tools that do more for less. In South African rands, we pay about 100,000 to 200,000 a year."
"I rate the product's pricing a three out of ten."
"The pricing is moderate, in the medium price range."
"The setup costs for QlikView are fair as are the yearly maintenance fees. The licensing becomes a bit more expensive and requires some planning for onboarding."
"14,000 Pounds per year for licensing."
"I am still using the two-week trial, but at first sight, the price is reasonable."
