Risk-based triage has transformed container security and now prioritizes high-impact threats
The best features Qualys TotalCloud offers currently include managing cloud infrastructure and container security while facing major challenges such as alert fatigue. Traditional vulnerability scanners flag hundreds of CVEs on short-lived Kubernetes containers, some of which have no internet exposure or are gone before we can even triage them. I leverage Qualys TotalCloud to move beyond static CVSS. I use it to implement runtime exposure, correlation risk reprioritization, and shift-left integration. This notifies developers to fix a base image upstream rather than patching live ephemeral instances. In my work with cloud and container security, the biggest operational hurdle was alert fatigue. I use Qualys to shift left from static CVSS severity to context-aware risk prioritization. I correlated raw vulnerability data with real-time risk factors such as public network exposure, active runtime execution, or overly permissive IAM roles. This allows us to immediately drop the priority of isolated containers and escalate lower-severity CVEs that sit on an exposed, high-risk path. We can map these findings directly back to our CI/CD pipelines so developers can patch the root base images upstream. We have drastically cut down the signal-to-noise ratio, saved a lot of manual hours doing triage work, and ensured engineering effort goes directly towards high-impact risk reduction.

Has accelerated vulnerability remediation by syncing with asset ownership data
Qualys CyberSecurity Asset Management has Qualys Query Language that works within itself. However, when switching to other modules the QQL either doesn't work or requires a different query to access the information, including in dashboards. They need to make their query language universal across the entire product so when using one module and making a query, it doesn't require changing the query to work in another module. The stability has decreased significantly on the product in the last couple of months. It takes considerable time to log into the product, and sometimes access is denied. Screens take long to load and occasionally crash. The product stability has notably declined over the last two months, and the performance to fulfill a page request is very slow compared to its previous performance.

Provides proactive threat remediation, reduces alert volume, and enhances incident response capabilities
During our pre-purchase evaluation of SentinelOne's EDR capabilities three years ago, we were consistently impressed by the positive relationships customers reported having with SentinelOne's engineers, sales teams, and customer success managers. These strong relationships, evident in the customers' unsolicited feedback, highlighted the "soft skills" and intangible qualities that SentinelOne possessed. This positive customer experience has been mirrored in our own interactions with them. Their responsiveness to our needs, particularly when addressing a couple of challenges we faced, has been excellent. They proactively scheduled weekly meetings to demonstrate their commitment to resolving our issues, a customer-centric approach I admire. SentinelOne's dedication to customer service, including their rapid technology updates and responsiveness to our suggestions, has been crucial to our success in protecting our organization. Their ability to quickly incorporate our needs into new releases is truly impressive and sets them apart. Overall, I highly recommend SentinelOne based on our positive interactions across all levels of their organization.
