Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Omni-channel routing has transformed case handling and now supports complex field operations
From my experience, we might need queue-based alignment in Omni-Channel routing. Assignment rules should be defined at the flow level. The challenge with SLA creation is evident in escalation rules, which should include a field flagging feature that is lacking in the current setup. Einstein Bot, linked with Omni-Channel messaging, is complex to define, with a need for all related information in one place, making the process cumbersome. Understanding which bot is associated with specific messaging apps requires manual searching, and this can be improved.

Manager at a computer software company with 501-1,000 employees
Stable, easy to install, and cost effective, but it needs better integration and data management
It needs better integration with other tools like Jira. Better reporting and better data management are also needed. I believe the way they're structured is the flat file. So it'd be better if they actually used a database for the data storage, and a more robust portal. I would like more flexible reporting.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"As we were closing our fiscal year, we had this huge backlog that we needed to clean up. The business was preparing to hire 12 people to do that, and even though they were not sure they could handle it, we built the process to extract and do the entire process just in two weeks. We were able with a single person to clean the entire backlog, which gave us huge benefits."
"There are many features of Automation Anywhere that were found to be most valuable like WLM, PDF integration, Advanced Excel Commands, Terminal Emulator and its commands, Interactive Forms building features of A2019 which helped us in developing UI for our front office automation and integrate it with multiple rest APIs."
"The overall UI of the tool is so user-friendly that even a beginner can use it easily."
"We have increased our productivity by five times as of now, and we are still growing."
"It helps in improving employee productivity, morale, and retention, as automation removes the tedious parts of work and frees up often stretched-thin employees for more meaningful and creative work."
"One very useful feature is the IQ Bot, which is helpful in the operation of the data input process to all of their applications."
"One of the features that we have used the most is an action in the Workbench called Object Cloning. We find that very reliable and very useful for implementing different business processes."
"Using automation, these processes are completed in between one and two hours, using one robot, and with these savings in time, the staff can do more in other areas, improving productivity and creativity while reducing the need for overtime and positively impacting the company overall."
"Distributing them automatically and evenly between users through Omni Channel ensures that everybody performs at their best and improves their productivity!"
"We have improved our customer service and call-deflection rate with Service Cloud, particularly with Knowledge Base and Customer Community features"
"Salesforce provides a really good overview of the pipeline and the stages of each sale, allowing management to make accurate forecasts in terms of what will come in by the end of the month, quarter, or year."
"With the implementation of a complete Service Renewal Cycle using Salesforce, their threshold value of conversion got reduced from 1-2 weeks to a single day!"
"Logging activities and creating opportunities are easier than before, and it provides visibility of the sales pipeline."
"If you can get customers to self-serve, this is invaluable and save your customers' time and your staff's time."
"The strength lies in its ability to work cohesively with other systems, creating a centralized hub that enhances efficiency and collaboration across various functionalities within our organization."
"The solution is a great product. It's hosted on a platform that offers various features, such as email, social media, phone calls, and chatbots. You can connect with customers through any of these channels."
"It is more flexible than our current solution."
"Absolutely, we have seen a return on our investment."
"The two most valuable features are the portal and reporting."

Cons

"To achieve a perfect ten, I would want to see new features working as expected and further advancements in automation."
"I would like them to add OCR features. This would help us deal with unstructured data and we can get more data out of images."
"Support is not very satisfactory."
"It should be easier to use."
"More and more innovation is going on, and they'll have to keep adding features to keep up with the market. They have generative AI on their platform, but that's a new part. They are working on it. It's not 100 percent foolproof, but eventually it will get better. They need to work on their AI capabilities."
"The Automation Anywhere community is less active than the UiPath community, which is a downside. When I ask questions in the Automation Anywhere community, responses take a longer time."
"When working with Excel, unlike other tools such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere does not have the standard variables for .Net data types."
"The scalability of Automation Anywhere's cloud version is excellent, but the on-premise version is a waste of time and money."
"One minor drawback is that its implementation requires some preparation. It's not something you can implement instantly; it takes time. The only issue I've encountered is that you need to ensure the implementation is done properly, which can be time-consuming. So, it requires some time and attention."
"The documentation could be improved."
"It is kind of a struggle to get a report that shows something you want it to show."
"The solution could continue improving its artificial intelligence capabilities."
"The prices for storing files - like example attachments - are really high per GB."
"There is room for improvement in pricing."
"It also needs a faster and smoother UI."
"Salesforce Service Cloud's report functionality could be improved."
"It needs better integration with other tools like Jira."
"Yes. Major system issues and outages during our implementation."
"It's a very cost-effective solution, but it's not robust."

"Time-wise: We have saved hundreds of thousands of hours."
"Only enterprise businesses can afford the solution, and small companies cannot afford it."
"The licensing is flexible. Companies pay for what they use. However, a company with very small needs might find it difficult to justify the cost. Overall, it's in the medium price range."
