Brings reporting, planning, and prediction together in one seamless workflow
I think the areas of SAP Analytics Cloud that could be improved or enhanced are mentioned by users or companies, and they would definitely mention the price in terms of planning licensing. From a consulting point of view, I don't see any major weaknesses. It is reasonably well-developed, and the perfect strength is that innovations are coming on a quarterly basis. It is slightly behind other tools in terms of the number of graphical outputs. Some tools have it faster, but every increment of innovations contains new features. On the other hand, it is perfectly fitting to the SAP environment, with seamless integration to all SAP modules, not only ERP but also SuccessFactors and other tools from the SAP family, for example, integrated business planning for the production planning. This is really a highlight compared to other tools.

I use TIBCO Statistica for quality control, creating profile control charts, and employing basic statistical tools in production. Some clients prefer advanced options like neural networks and decision trees for more in-depth analysis. TIBCO Statistica helps us meet a range of statistical needs for…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Planning and integration are the most valuable features. It is useful for planning, and it is useful for integrating with on-prem or cloud SAP solutions."
"I would advise anyone looking into SAP Analytics Cloud to go for it."
"It is scalable."
"The planning functionality is good."
"SAP Business Data Cloud has impacted my organization and my customers' organizations positively as customers are starting to explore how to transition from existing data warehouses into this data product economy."
"What I appreciate about SAP Analytics Cloud is the AI features, which include interactive dashboards, drill-down capabilities, linked dimensions, and the ability to integrate more than one model in the same story."
"It is a comprehensive BI solution that provides reporting, planning, and predictive analytics in one solution."
"Seamless planning is equal to live data, and when using live data it is very helpful because I get the data up to date, I do not have to manually refresh it, I can perform all sorts of calculations on my presentation or calculation layer, and present it to the client with live data being fetched into the system, which helped greatly for BI capabilities and allowed me to create multiple reports and dashboards to understand the sales-related dynamics of the current business in real time."
"One of the best features of TIBCO Statistica is its block-based solution building."

Cons

"I would prefer to see it grow more efficiently, especially the AI helper tool."
"SAP Analytics Cloud should improve the dashboard."
"Frankly, pricing, setup cost, and licensing seem a bit high compared to other hyperscalers, but if SAP works on that and provides some innovative options, it could improve and help them gain market share by reducing licensing costs slightly."
"The analytics app is designed for programmers. You need to know programming languages in order to use the solution effectively, and some users aren't programmers."
"It still lacks a lot of functionalities as compared to other tools such as Power BI or Tableau. Sorting is not working as well as it works in Tableau. A lot of other things are also not at the same level. Their technical support is not perfect and could be better. It takes a lot of time to have lacking functionalities implemented. Its integration with the BW backend should be better. Both solutions are from the same vendor. They position SAP Analytics Cloud as a reporting tool on top of the BW environment, but the integration between both is not yet 100%. For example, user management is still not synchronized."
"There are dimension restrictions. The scope is limited to only five to six accounts."
"There are significant hindrances in the reliability area of SAP Business Data Cloud related to connections. On one project, we created two to three connections for each module; however, when we moved from the development phase to the UAT or quality check phase, we found that our connections had expired, which meant redevelopment work, loss of time and money, and we also lost the trust of the customer."
"The cost is an area that could be improved."
"TIBCO Statistica could improve by expanding its neural network capabilities to support multi-layer networks, addressing user demands for advanced tasks like image analysis."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The product is expensive."
"The pricing of this product is reasonable."
"The product is expensive."
"The price is competitive. There is a power user license and normal user license, but the normal user license is reasonable."
"This solution is pricey."
"SAP Analytics Cloud can be quite expensive."
"Compute and storage features should be sold separately."
"The platform is about 50% more expensive than Power BI."
