Behavioral insights have powered personalized investor journeys and data-driven campaigns
I have not used Segment for more than a year, so I am not aware of its current evolution, but I know there was a migration from Segment to Adobe as a strategic decision by XP bank, which pointed out unified databases as an improvement area compared to Segment, where they effectively utilized AI for creative marketing campaign generation. The necessary improvements in Segment based on my experience focus on providing more tools for the marketing team, particularly using AI to create campaigns through images and short videos, enhancing communication with end customers via offer banners in a more automated and effective manner.

Automated Website Event Tracking
1. The only website analytics product out of the several ones we tried that identifies and tracks in-page events automatically without having to manually select and tag them. This completely eliminates "analyst bias" in assigning relative importance to events. 2. Clearly classifies website traffic into the three most important categories: Organic, Referral and Paid Search. 3. Excellent addon to Google Analytics. Using SkyGlue, we stumbled upon the fact that Computerworld magazine had named one of our products as a Top 10 Android App. Although we could've theoretically found this out from Google Analytics, it was much easier to gain this insight in actual practice by using SkyGlue. Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Segment has positively impacted my organization by enabling my client to improve their marketing and understanding of their customers through the use of Segment without needing IT as a bottleneck."
"With Segment, we were able to clean the data and also break the data into different classes to reach specific targets with a specific message, and the outcome was very superb."
"In the initial rollout of the campaigns, we definitely saw a 2% conversion rate, and the end-to-end return on average ad spend showed an improvement of 14%."
"On the one hand, Segment has saved marketing costs, which has allowed me to use that investment elsewhere, and on the other hand, it has allowed me to do much more personalization than I could do manually."
"I really enjoyed working with Segment's partnerships team, as I did not implement Segment for myself but was a consultant that implemented it for others."
"Segment allowed for the organization of the entire source of all audiences, making it a very robust tool where the cost pays for itself through return on investment, highlighting the tool's cost-benefit ratio as a major differentiator."
"Inserting some very simple code snippets has made this part of it a breeze for our developer so he can concentrate on the hard stuff."
"Segment has positively impacted my organization by making working with customer data a lot easier for us, as well as improving the speed at which we can ingest from new data sources and push to different activation layers."
"We finally selected SkyGlue primarily because it's the only product that automates in-page event tracking."

Cons

"Segment can be improved in the initial phase regarding data quality checks between different channels' attribution versus Segment itself."
"When we worked with customers who were using the professional services, they weren't always happy with the implementation because it was a little too simplistic and didn't live up to what the sales team said it could deliver."
"Regarding Segment's AI capabilities, I think its accuracy and reliability of output were lacking."
"Segment scalability is good when it comes to geographic enablement but it is not scalable in terms of data. As I mentioned before, when different streams of data change, it might not incorporate once the data is set up."
"I think Segment can improve in terms of identity management, possibly in some of the protocols by adding more flexibility."
"I have not used Segment for more than a year, so I am not aware of its current evolution, but I know there was a migration from Segment to Adobe as a strategic decision by XP bank, which pointed out unified databases as an improvement area compared to Segment, where they effectively utilized AI for creative marketing campaign generation."
"The cost is very high, but it is worth it."
"I chose a rating of eight out of ten because these video tutorials would really illustrate how to use the tool to its full potential, and perhaps some more hands-on support from the Segment team would push it to a ten."
"Event tracking is not realtime."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing was on the higher side but it wasn't excessively high."
