Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Stable, easy to install, and cost effective, but it needs better integration and data management
It needs better integration with other tools like Jira. Better reporting and better data management are also needed. I believe the way they're structured is the flat file. So it'd be better if they actually used a database for the data storage, and a more robust portal. I would like more flexible reporting.

Macros and automation have streamlined workflows and reduced manual effort across support teams
The ability to communicate on the Zendesk ticket through the actual user software, so TOPs, would have been helpful. Somehow seeing a user's ticket history within our app would have been beneficial. That is the only thing that I do not think existed at the time that might have been helpful. Some people struggled with Zendesk, but it was always easy enough to show them how to use it and what they were missing. The only times we really had people report concerns about it was when they did not understand that it could do that or how to use it in that way.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Training videos are very good and include detailed examples, which is really helpful for beginners."
"As a solution for process automation, it's been very easy for us to use, and I don't think that we could have done it with any other solution."
"The tool is now more stable, with more opportunities and new commands, like recording for the UI or advanced Excel features."
"It is a good tool and one of the market leaders."
"What Automation Anywhere has done is free up more time for our staff, and they're able to handle exceptions in our processes instead of having to do the mundane, repetitive tasks they were doing previously."
"The character extraction capability of IQ Bot is much, much better than the other OCR (Optical Character Recognition) engines that you have in the market today."
"It helps improve performance and helps companies save time and money."
"Automation of such tasks helped in clearing the bandwidth of the users and requestors alike and saved a lot of to and fro just asking for the latest data."
"The two most valuable features are the portal and reporting."
"It is more flexible than our current solution."
"Absolutely, we have seen a return on our investment."
"The most valuable features of Zendesk Support are collaboration, reports, and a self-service portal. The customer and team can see all the information needed from the portal."
"We have improved the service to clients, creating great support and managing relationships."
"Zendesk is a great product for managing and maintaining requests from users."
"Navigation and application is user friendly and can be self-taught from a user perspective."
"The way it’s set up makes it very easy for agents, end-users, and administrators to use."
"This is one of the better solutions on the market for SMBs."
"It is a scalable solution."
"We loved the notifications and the way to build custom views for a specific user's open tickets and to see how long they have been open, how long it was since the last request."

Cons

"If there were one thing I could ask for it would be a text-based language. Right now it's proprietary, so you always have to go through the tool, even for things like basic compares."
"My experience has been that if the person who codes the bot is not very well-trained, then they might create unstable bots. So, it's not the platform. It is just how somebody has coded the bots which can bring lot of instability to them. I recommend that when you are using a coder that the person well-trained and have a good amount of experience already working on bots. They shouldn't be newbie or beginner who comes in to code because that will impact the quality of the code itself."
"Logging into Automation Anywhere takes some time. I use it frequently, and each login currently takes some time. A reduction in this time would be helpful."
"There should be a way to avoid recoding everything whenever there's an upgrade to the latest version."
"The scheduling is a little difficult at times."
"20 percent of the bots need to supervised because sometimes errors occur during the run. Most of the errors that I have encountered have been because the object cloning did not capture the buttons properly."
"Automation Anywhere risks falling behind by focusing solely on Robotic Process Automation when competitors offer more versatile and adaptable solutions that integrate AI for a more intelligent automation experience."
"There could be more training provided by Automation Anywhere."
"It's a very cost-effective solution, but it's not robust."
"It needs better integration with other tools like Jira."
"Yes. Major system issues and outages during our implementation."
"If you are only using it for the knowledge base, it may not be the best product."
"The dashboard could be better."
"Merging tickets is very time consuming; maybe the system can automatically merge tickets that are related and on the same topic."
"It needs to improve in terms of its flexibility, price, and installation."
"The data you get when logged in to Zendesk Support differs from the data you get when you programmatically query Zendesk Support through its API because of a sync time delay."
"It was not easy to set up so we're only using a third of all of the features, and we wanted something that was easier to configure and set up."
"There are some edge cases where the simplicity of the platform prevented some unusual workflows, but we worked around it without much hassle."
"It could use better analytics for trend tracking as well as the ability to tie the customer support and sales items together."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"If we talk about the automation RPA. it definitely has worked very well for us. I'm talking about giving good savings, about more than 180 FTE savings, after implementing more than 200 plus bots. It has worked well. As an organization, it has supported us very well, and also for our customers."
"Roughly, as of today, it is around $250,000 annually."
"We purchase on a bot basis. Our costs are approximately $5,000."
"We have a three-year contract with Automation Anywhere."
"It depends. For example, for my group, we are centralizing the infrastructure in Paris. Our contract is signed with Automation Anywhere in France. The currency and the pricing of Automation Anywhere in France can appear beneficial and interesting for Germany and Scandinavian countries, but when we share our infra and are internally charging other countries such as Poland, Brazil, or some other country with a lower currency value as compared to Euro, it becomes less beneficial. They would prefer to sign the contract directly with Automation Anywhere because they will benefit from a price that is as per their local market."
"AA comes at a more affordable price than the other tools."
"Despite being less expensive than UiPath, Automation Anywhere remains cost-prohibitive for many small and medium-sized businesses."
"In terms of pricing, this is a good product."
"The price is approximately $70 per agent, per month."
"We pay for the solution on a yearly basis and my understanding is that the cost is about $30,000. That's the cost for 24 to 25 agents."
"Zendesk's licensing is not cheap. For Enterprise, we are paying $200 per agent. It's a per-month cost, so it's pretty steep. There are some services you need to pay extra for. For example, with Zendesk Guide, we had to buy the most expensive offering in order to get Multibrand and everything. We also had to pay a lot of money for themes."
"From what I hear, Zendesk's pricing is a little expensive."
"There are different plans that are offered. We are using the entry-level plan. The overall price of the solution should be reduced. The price is too high."
"You have to pay extra for better support. So it's not only the license that you pay for, but you have to pay extra for the support as well."
"The price is very competitive."
