The ability to configure rules to check for consistency has helped
Apiary provides a free tier of the platform which allows a small group of developers to collaborate easily on the design of open source APIs. In addition to this, it provides mock endpoints allowing people to experiment with the API without depending or having to stand up a real backend. With our clients, using Apiary allows us to very quickly pull together an API definition (particularly when using API Blueprint). The whole API design process for the simpler use cases can be done in a relatively short workshop which makes it a lot easier to agree, publish, version-manage an API definition with suitable documentation. This can then be evolved and enhanced (particularly in the documentation aspects). With the ability to support Swagger (Open API v2 and introducing/ed support for v3) and API Blueprint makes it a very versatile tool.

Centralized collaboration has transformed API testing and documentation across multiple teams
In terms of improvement, the UI can sometimes feel heavy for larger collections in the workspaces. Additionally, performance may slow down with complex API projects, and pricing can be expensive for smaller teams. However, it is quite suitable for bigger teams. Other areas for improvement include better reporting and analytics dashboards, and more advanced native test environment features could enhance workflow, with smoother offline support and sync handling. Additionally, better performance for very large collections would be helpful, along with more intuitive navigation for enterprise-scale workspaces, stronger reporting analytics, easier management of permissions across large teams, and more flexible automation and testing report options would be beneficial. Small usability and performance improvements would make Postman Enterprise even more efficient for larger organizations. Postman Enterprise needs better performance optimization for large enterprises, more detailed analytics user reporting, improved API governance and audit visibility, simpler permissions and access control management, faster sync and loading times for larger collections, and more advanced built-in testing and reporting capabilities.

Pros

"Vey high - very easy API design with no setup effort"
"This solution has allowed us to standardize API definitions and bring consistency into our shared components, reducing the effort and cost of using functionality across domains within the organization, with Apiary being crucial to our good API strategy."
"In two years, there was one time the service was down for an hour or so."
"I find the generation of mock services very useful, especially when demonstrating for new consumers."
"Quick and easy way to share a new API design with teams."
"The feature I find most valuable is that it offers authentication and allows us to develop communication points."
"I do like the overall performance of the solution."
"Git integration"
"The solution provides visibility for PDF reports without needing to install plugins."
"The solution has a great user interface and collection of features."
"It definitely increases the quality of our deliveries because we are able to test our APIs before moving them to production."
"Postman is a great solution and resource for those who are new to technical platforms in terms of API development and testing."
"The most valuable feature is that JavaScript can be included as tests."
"The most valuable feature of this solution is Collections, which perfectly suits a microservice factor, and the workspace is very useful because you can save configurations in their cloud so that you can access them from home or at the office by logging in to the same account without having to recreate them."
"It is a scalable solution."
"The tool is simple and easy."

Cons

"I don't think this solution is very stable so we try to manage stability from our side."
"The Oracle release cycle is very bad because the patches only update once a year."
"Better Swagger support."
"I would like an integrated option to download a Swagger version of the definition."
"Swagger (OpenAPI Specification) and Blueprint Support"
"Validation messages could be a bit clearer."
"Could be more user friendly."

"I rate the support for Postman a four out of five."
"When you try to code something and put it in the code, it's not useful."
"The downside of using this solution is that you need to know JavaScript."
"The tool needs to have a reporting feature."
"Postman does not have a check-in balance. Essentially what I mean by that is if there is something that is already configured on a particular device, it just overrides it without checking whether you really want to override it or not."
"One thing which Postman needs to improve is the documentation. The documentation of Postman is not that great when compared to other tools."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"There is a free subscription option to start and try the service."
"It is easy to get started with personal (free) accounts, but a subscription is required for additional features."
"This solution offers a free version."
"We use the open-source version. They introduced a new licensing model where your company must subscribe to their services if you're using it for business purposes. However, I think they charge too much if you're only using the basic features. It limits what your organization can do if you're not a paying customer."
"The solution has moderate pricing."
"It is free."
"Postman is a free service."
"Postman is an open-source product. It is free to download from Google."
"The solution's price is reasonable."
"This tool is open-source and free to download and use."
