Secure file governance has improved collaboration and automation for client document workflows
The best features are around security, being able to set up different groups, and the governance features are really great. The new AI functionality that they released has been pretty handy. For governance and security, the audit trail capability is excellent. We are able to see when people interact or change files or if something was deleted, and we can go through and review that audit trail. The AI has been great for creating different workflows that we are able to execute. When a form gets submitted into Box - Intelligent Content Management or a file is uploaded, there are certain automations that we can put in place to where it can essentially generate tickets in our system for new users or other tasks.

Built-in integrations increase efficiency but cluster support requires improvement
On the ITM side, there are conflicts, particularly on the convergence side, where it does not support cluster environments. Multiple instances need to be set up and configured. In the cloud environment, improvements are ongoing. The fallback and benefit assessment of the product suggest a need for a rating of seven or eight.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The system's performance is impressive, and file sharing is notably straightforward."
"It is really easy to load files to and from this solution."
"Box - Intelligent Content Management has positively impacted my organization by being really great and helpful for the past two years I have been using it."
"The best features of Box for me include the structured file organizing, which is the most important part I found, and apart from that, secure sharing and integration with automation platforms, along with its smooth integration and usage in automations, is a very big plus for me."
"Most of the time, they are running a free 50GB for life promotion, which is a pretty good deal."
"The ability to collaborate around data anywhere, anytime is the most powerful features of Box."
"You can upload your bin, upload your files quickly, and download your files quickly, and you can use it on your own, on an iPad, or on your mobile phones whenever you wish to."
"I like the ease of use."
"It's a comprehensive solution for managing documents within our organization's management framework."
"There are competitors out there, but there's a lot that Oracle Cloud offers outside of giving you just a basic database or basic infrastructure-as-a-service that add a lot of value to it."
"The reliability of the system is significant, creating a lot of trust among our customers."
"The product's initial setup phase was easy."

Cons

"They could integrate better with other platforms."
"The Search functionality needs to be more robust and behave like Google Search."
"I don't like the low level of role-based security it provides – it's very cumbersome, and the support is ordinary at times."
"There are still some management features I would like to see improved, giving more control to IT."
"Like all cloud platforms, there are always areas of improvement around sync to local devices."
"The integration with other products should be improved."
"Data privacy, regarding where to store your data: Offering several transparent(!) options (where to store my data and whether to sync back or not and where to sync) regarding the local law situations (USA, EU, Switzerland!) would increase the credibility of a US based company (after NSA ‘snooping’)."
"Integrations, the more integrations the better. Office + Outlook are great but we need more like it."
"Oracle Content Management poses complexities in initial implementation and configuration."
"The only issue my company has with the tool is the licensing part, which is expensive."
"I would like to see faster turnaround for provisioning new services."
"On the ITM side, there are conflicts, particularly on the convergence side, where it does not support cluster environments."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I believe Box is cheaper than SharePoint."
"My organization pays for the license."
"A business account has a minimum of three users. If you are more than three people in-house, go for the Enterprise version. All the external users are free of charge."
"There's a free version that allows you to use it with almost full-feature access. Even in the free version, it gives you all you need."
"The pricing may seem steep at first, but delve into the features and you'll soon realize it is incredible value for what you get."
"Box's pricing is excellent."
"We are using the free version of the solution. There is a free version and monthly and yearly subscriptions available."
"I'm in Higher Ed, so we purchase through Internet2-Net+. I absolutely recommend going that route for Higher Ed customers."
"The tool's licensing part is expensive."
