Advanced threat detection has improved investigations but complexity and resource use need refinement
LogRhythm SIEM could learn from Wazuh, as Wazuh has a built-in mechanism that allows you to write custom scripting and scripts through languages that Wazuh can then trigger, which is somewhat better and more matured in Wazuh compared to LogRhythm SIEM. Additionally, the parsers that I write for LogRhythm SIEM tend to get quite complex for log parsing, while with Wazuh, I can achieve a similar parser with much less complexity. Those are some of the pain points that some of our customers have been expressing. If LogRhythm SIEM could make a lightweight version of their solution, that would be quite competitive because some of my customers have a very large need but refuse to go with LogRhythm SIEM due to its complexity and high resource intensity. Therefore, they have been moved to Wazuh, which I am deploying for them. Even though LogRhythm SIEM has extremely good capabilities, their resource utilization is too heavy for certain customers, so if they could make a separate, lightweight version, that would be quite beneficial.

Great for PCI compliance but issues with stability and large amounts of data
I mainly use this solution to meet PCI compliance The automation of compliance reports and the correlation of the log have been major improvements.  The most valuable feature is the predefined reports for PCI compliance. The correlation suite needs to be improved. I also think they need to…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The daily alerts allow me to quickly find security and operational issues which need to be addressed."
"It is a really good product with good support."
"In terms of alarms and AI intelligence, we see that LogRhythm is giving more accurate and meaningful events compared to the others."
"The most valuable part of the solution is being to view all of the logs whenever you want."
"For us, LogRhythm has given us the kind of insight we need to understand when those threats either are being recon-ed, found out, or when they're really trying a brute force attack to get at us."
"LogRhythm has been really a good partner, they've reached out, they're always wanting information, "How we can improve? How can we do this or that?""
"While the cost is high, the security provided is quite good, and for those who can afford it, they will pay for the peace of mind."
"LogRhythm really gave us a better understanding of what our overall risk is within our network and has opened our eyes to include other products that helped address different types of issues."
"File integrity monitoring is a very important function."
"Customer Service: The service we've seen from NNT to date has been extraordinarily good."
"This is a very easy-to-use interface with a quick ramp-up time."
"The most valuable feature is the predefined reports for PCI compliance."
"The FIM features in the Change Tracker and the Log Tracker are the most valuable."
"If you want to deploy a SIEM and you want it to be simple, and not deal with much maintenance or help from the OEM, then I would say that NNT is the one."
"The automation of compliance reports and the correlation of the log have been major improvements."
"The Change Tracker tool is very good and will reduce your overall workload."

Cons

"I would like to see our vulnerabilities counter. We will be using Tenable to fill that void right now."
"I wouldn't give them a 10 out of 10 because there is definitely some room for improvement as far as in the GUI."
"The main area of improvement is that the client must be installed on the computer for all of the functions to work."
"NextGen SIEM's integration with other software is good but could be improved."
"LogRhythm's SOAR and NDR features don't stack up well against competitors. maybe integrating theme functionality as the other do. But in general, it's okay."
"The integration is slightly difficult with other assets, like EDR technologies or firewalls."
"Lots of concern these days regarding vulnerability, and being able to interface with other types of applications when creating event logs."
"It is a little hard to get integrated."
"There are some issues with the stability - the correlation engine has failed multiple times, and the reports sometimes take too long, so we have to involve the tech team to get them."
"It is able to identify the vulnerability, however, they need an option to auto-mitigate."
"Only one minor deployment issue came up and it was resolved quickly. No other areas of improvement come to mind yet."
"For the NNT Log Tracker and Change Tracker, they have to make their knowledge base available online because there is very little information available on the internet."
"I would like to see the integration of AI technology, so rather than manually monitoring the logs, the tool will understand it and take care of it."
"The correlation suite needs to be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The setup and licensing for small and medium size businesses is straightforward, though when it comes to the enterprise it pays to keep in mind the possibility for complications given all the extras and add-ons that may be required."
"I would rate the tool's pricing around eight out of ten."
"LogRhythm's pricing and licensing is extremely competitive and it's one of the top three reasons we continue to invest in the platform."
"We have seen a measurable decrease in the mean time to detect and respond to threats. As it comes out new features and new releases, the window is becoming a lot narrower because you can pivot a lot more with the data. Therefore, the new features and enhancements are reducing that."
"I would recommend talking to the rep. That's the biggest thing because they will know what questions to ask."
"In comparison to the competition, they are more affordable. This allows us to do more with less."
"If you don't have your staff, absolutely look into the co-pilot and factor that into your cost evaluation."
"I would recommend that whatever sales quotes to them upfront, they will probably go up. Because they are probably going to outgrow that very quickly or once they start getting everything into it, they are going to have to move up anyway."
"Consider both their on-premises solution and their hosted solution. Both are reasonably priced."
"We have selected a perpetual license along with support."
"NNT's pricing is moderate - I would rate their pricing two-and-a-half out of ten."
