User-friendly interface, and reasonably priced but the support needs improvement
While the solution is generally satisfactory, we encountered difficulties when attempting to seek assistance for issues we faced. Getting the necessary help proved to be quite challenging. The after-sales service is not ideal for French-speaking customers like us in Quebec. Unfortunately, there is no local support available for us. We are now able to work on more security-related tasks with Acronis, as they offer features such as antivirus, DLP, and various cybersecurity options. This is a significant improvement compared to our previous solution with Veeam Cloud Connect, where we were lacking such features. It also allows us to offer a wider range of security options to our customers.

Backup has protected our office data and now restores individual emails while admins configure settings
Although Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 is a Backup as a Service, it should give slight leverage to the admins to do more of their own configurations. When it comes to Software as a Service, we do need to agree on certain things, as we do not have much control over the software. If Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 can improve, it would be better. It could be slightly better, but it is acceptable. As long as support is provided in a timely manner, it is good. I cannot tell it is fully bad or fully good. If I were to give a rating of one to five, I might give 3.5 to four. Rather than giving a help database, which is an ocean of information to search through ourselves, we should be able to open a ticket and have them guide us on how to do it. As an end-user, different levels of admins exist—a fresh admin and a more experienced admin. They need to encourage us to open a ticket quickly, and from there they should guide us straightforwardly with the steps to follow to achieve the desired outcome.

Pros

"I like this solution and recommend it to clients."
"The most valuable feature is the snapshot capability."
"With Veeam, you get a useable copy when you restore a backup."
"I like the fact that it gives you the possibility to set the data out of the customer on-premises site and to have an off-site copy in your Cloud Data Center."
"In my opinion, the console or dashboard is the most valuable feature of this solution."
"I am happy with their support, they are fast, and their response is very good."
"The deployment is quite simple. Users are generally happy because of the familiarity they have with the features. The solution offers good transparency for the end-user."
"I've found flexibility to be the most valuable feature, and I also like that it's scalable and that the stability is okay."
"The product offers good stability."
"It is a really good and intuitive solution; Veeam has developed a fantastic product, and I've never seen anything that I don't like about Veeam."
"The feature that I like the most is the system backup recovery from OneDrive."
"It works well for our backup needs, and I would recommend it for Microsoft 365 due to its reliability."
"Veaam technical support, from my perspective, is one of the best technical support I've ever engaged with."
"Generally speaking from my experience, this solution is very good, but it also has some room for improvement."
"I believe the solution is very scalable. We can continuously add mailboxes and sites."
"Veeam Backup does backup and restore very well, comparable to Acronis, and we have found both Veeam Backup and Acronis to be very easy to use and integrate naturally for administration."

Cons

"The flexibility results in more administrative GUI. The GUI needs improvement."
"The bandwidth optimization needs to be improved and have better efficiency so that you send fewer amounts of data from one site to the other."
"We are now able to work on more security-related tasks with Acronis, as they offer features such as antivirus, DLP, and various cybersecurity options. This is a significant improvement compared to our previous solution with Veeam Cloud Connect, where we were lacking such features. It also allows us to offer a wider range of security options to our customers."
"There are some issues with the cloud providers for Veeam Cloud Connect that do not support all the features."
"The solution needs to be more scalable. There should be no reason to set up Veeam Cloud Connect and have 10 servers in order to have a cloud backup. The initial setup could be easier."
"The security of encrypted data could be better."
"I think the pricing could be improved and I also think archiving could be improved."
"The dashboard could be more intuitive."
"It's a new product. It's not mature."
"In some instances, a customer is not necessarily backing up Microsoft 365. For instance, they might be backing up a large Oracle database. It would be nice if they could tweak it to compress the file, so it's easier to transfer a huge file."
"They should improve the backup and restoration time."
"I find that technical support can be improved because for people who are knowledgeable, it is good, whereas for people who are not, the support is too technical."
"I'm very satisfied with Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 and would continue using it if it were up to me. However, my management is considering alternative solutions due to issues with our storage solutions."
"I think the pricing model is wrong."
"Veeam is quite expensive."
"Pricing is an area for improvement, and I would rate it at five out of ten."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We are looking into how we can extend the license of this product."
"The licensing is MSP-based. It is connected to the portal, and you can deploy it to your end users as well."
"It's not the cheapest solution on the market but it's reliable, so we find it cost-effective."
"The pricing of Veeam Cloud Connect is good."
"I think that this is one of the most cost-effective solutions."
"The licensing fee is on a monthly basis."
"The price of the solution could be cheaper. There are monthly or yearly subscription options available. The annual subscription tends to be cheaper."
"The price of the solution is reasonable because of our good standing with the vendor."
"It is strictly subscribed on a per-user basis."
"I think it's a fair price. It's around $36 per user, so I think it's a fair price for our customers."
"The cost of Veeam Backup is $28 per user for one year."
"It is not the cheapest solution in the market."
"We have 2000 users and pay about $10,000. It may be a little bit more per year. We have an education institute and may have fewer expenses."
"Veaam Backup is licensed per mailbox, which customers like because it's per user and so they don't have to pay for shared mailboxes."
"The pricing is middle-of-the-road compared with competing products."
"We decided on Altaro because, from the point of view of the total cost, Altaro looks cheaper than Veeam. Veeam has a lot of costs that are not clear when you start it, which makes it less flexible than Altaro, but only after half a year, you can be really sure that you made a good decision."
