Collaboration has transformed daily work and supports seamless global voice communication
Microsoft Teams could be improved, especially regarding contact center solutions which have a growing need for omnichannel capabilities, integrating with external platforms such as social media and email for a unified experience. Minor improvements might include reintroducing features such as GPU options available in classic Microsoft Teams to address issues in modern Microsoft Teams related to video meetings and content sharing. Furthermore, essential information such as who started or ended recordings should be more accessible in the Microsoft Teams admin center. I rate it a nine because Microsoft Teams occasionally experiences glitches in the client, leading to missing chat history or other transient issues. The performance issues with the desktop client and the support service complexities contribute to my rating being less than perfect. I have not identified any other improvements needed for Microsoft Teams.

The ability to track call flow and history simplifies call management while bridging issues persist
I find the ability to follow the calls, the call flow, the ability to look at the history, and more on the fault-finding tools to be valuable. It improved from a support model perspective. It simplified the licensing, reduced administration since it's based on calls, not based on users. It's about managing the calls and verifying we have enough space as opposed to always adding licenses for endpoints or users.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Microsoft Teams gave our small group the ability to chat via instant messenger."
"The transition to this solution is very quick so don't hesitate to give it a go, particularly for anyone already using Microsoft products."
"Additionally, the solution has high performance, and the video and quality of the calls are good."
"This is a stable solution, I have not faced any problems using the video conferencing."
"I use the solution to chat with my team."
"The solution's most valuable feature is Microsoft Planner. Most users now use Microsoft Teams since many companies use Microsoft Office 365. It's built into the plan, and they use the same email address for a single sign-on."
"The most valuable feature of Microsoft Teams is that I can attach files in any format."
"The initial setup process is straightforward for technical executives."
"The solution is stable, there are no bugs or glitches, and it doesn't crash or freeze."
"The product increases the ability of Teams in cases when we need to collaborate with whiteboards or specific video-coms or audio-coms to install a meeting presence room."
"It does a good job of integrating with other software."
"I find the ability to follow the calls, the call flow, the ability to look at the history, and more on the fault-finding tools to be valuable."
"It simplified the licensing, reduced administration since it's based on calls, not based on users."
"It's on-prem, which is great."
"The most valuable feature is its integration with solutions like Zoom and Teams for endpoints. The picture quality is high, and the conference sessions are stable."
"Some proprietary Polycom features include speaker tracking, acoustic fencing, noise cancellation, active noise cancellation, and noise cancellation AI."

Cons

"The product's support can be better."
"It is challenging to navigate the setting for the screen-sharing feature."
"The future scalability can include the integration of planners, project management tools, SharePoint, and more applications that are used."
"The solution should improve internal and external data expansion. I am not able to send records to an external member who has been added to the call. I am only able to send the file to the internal member. These features should be enabled in that Teams so that during the call, we can share the document file and discuss at the same time."
"Microsoft Teams does not have any features that Zoom, Skype, or Webex don't already have."
"One area where the product could be improved is its operational memory utilization."
"The only issue is sometimes, when I share my screen, and there's text on it, the compression can make it very blurry. If Teams could solve this problem so that text remains clear during screen sharing, that would be nice."
"The solution's user interface could be improved because it initially looked complex."
"The only issue we have is with some of the bridging stuff, particularly with respect to DTMF and outgoing calls."
"I'd like to see a wider range of use cases for this product."
"Polycom RealPresence Clariti is very bad when moving towards the cloud."
"Could have a wider range of use cases."
"The idea of the Clariti 2.0 is good, however, they're still moving too slowly."
"The customer needs this platform to be a little bit more customized."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"If you have clients who do not have a computer and are joining with their phones it's an additional fee of $5.00 per user."
"The product is expensive, and I rate its pricing a ten out of ten."
"Microsoft Teams is expensive compared to other solutions."
"The solution's pricing is reasonable and I would rate it an eight out of ten."
"Microsoft Teams comes free if you're using it in an organization."
"We have a license needed to use Microsoft Teams."
"The solution's pricing is fair enough and not expensive. Teams' licensing costs are yearly. However, Zoom is less expensive."
"If you have content that requires more security and you want to use it in a more secure manner, with more protection, then it will come at a higher cost."
"Polycom RealPresence Clariti is definitely more expensive than others in the market because of its high quality."
